This restaurant has the best Chinese food in the Des Moines Metro, and my wife loves this place. I have never had better sesame chicken, and this food is delicious. The restaurant has friendly, professional, hard-working staff, and the price is fantastic. The parking is plentiful and the food is inexpensive and a great value.

We enjoyed our initial visit, as we selected two of their Daily Specials (Chicken Lo Me in & Cashew Chicken), which were delicious. Great customer service. Casual. Plenty of interior seating.

A surprise hit for us! I had low expectations but they flipped that! We didn’t realize they were near closing time but they were extremely accommodating! The food was delicious ESPECIALLY the Mongolian beef (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). Egg drop soup was good too!

General Tso chicken was perfect! Tso Tasty! Egg roll, beef (no oink)
Everything was delicious and a good red sauce.
May want to get lunch specials. Dinner is not inexpensive and lunch includes egg roll & rice.

Sisters & I ventured out on a cold evening. They weren’t all that busy. There were two girls behind the counter neither of which said hello, may I help you or any type of greeting at all. They did not seem to want to answer any questions but took our orders and our payment quickly. After we were seated I went up to request steamed instead of fried rice with my entree. She then indicated that one of my sisters said water but got pop and needed to pay for it. I told my sister, who in fact had ordered and paid for pop so she went up and told them. The girl said “no you didn’t” but then checked her receipt and said “oh I guess you did.” No apology. Food came quickly. Egg rolls were good enough but Orange chicken was mediocre. Probably won’t return as we don’t need rudeness and disrespect on top of mediocre food.

We’re carryout people, so in other words, the ones most likely to run in to food-service issues if any are to be found as associated with a restaurant. Lucky Bamboo is a highly recommended Chinese restaurant.
We’ve most often come for food orders, in the later evening hours, this time-table is often prone to food issues or forgotten to include side orders.
Generally, we’ve enjoyed generous servings, perfectly cooked shrimp dishes, and delicious extra egg rolls.
Unfortunately, most recently they’ve deviated from that most excellent service of food, and now our most recent carry-out was most egregious, the shrimp was tough(overcooked) the combined requested vegetable of broccoli was confusing b/c there was more twice as many water chestnuts, as any broccoli.
Then there was no included egg roll sauce, no soy sauce, which I guess wasn’t a huge deal, as our ordered and paid for side order of egg rolls were not included in our pickup.
I guess my advice is ya might wish to tip on your carry out, otherwise your sides will be forgotten. It’s disappointing not to be able to trust carry outs but we all know what is said about carry outs and drive thrus to the customer.

That was the worst Asian food I’ve ever had. Wasted money. Garlic chicken tastes like dirt. It’s not celery and cashew chicken. Glad it wasn’t expensive or I’d be asking for my money back..

So glad I tried Lucky Bamboo, love the authentic Sichuan food! Staff is from Chongqing and the menu has a great selection of noodles, soups, stir fries and deserts. We have been several times and absolutely love it.

This place reminded me very much of Tsing Tsao – which is a good thing to me. Quick service and good cuts of meat. Place looked clean although I didn’t see the restrooms. Wish I could have ordered a beer though. I’d be back if I lived in the area.
