Reviews
The decor is inviting and thoughtfully done, creating a comfortable and pleasant dining atmosphere. On top of that, the customer service is excellent — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
I’ve been to their other location, and this one definitely surpasses it in both ambiance and service. A fantastic place to enjoy great Thai cuisine in a cozy, well-run environment!
Upon entering, the Thai-themed decor, complete with a tuk-tuk at the entrance, creates a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. The seating is comfortable and the lighting is excellent, setting the stage for an enjoyable meal. The menu highlights popular Thai dishes, which is a promising sign that the restaurant is committed to doing what it does best.
The Food
While waiting for my appetizer, I was intrigued by the array of condiments on each table, which included granulated sugar, white vinegar, spicy fish sauce, toasted dry chili peppers, chili powder, and chili oil. This thoughtful touch allows diners to customize their dishes to their preferred level of spice and flavour.
I started my meal with the spring rolls, which were served cut in half. While the flavour was decent, the filling was a bit mushy and the cabbage tasted steamed. I would rate this dish a 4/10 and feel it has potential for improvement.
For my main course, I ordered the Pad Thai, which did not disappoint. The dish lived up to its promise of being made with a homemade tamarind sauce and no ketchup, which delivered a perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and sour flavours. The ingredients were fresh and the option to adjust the spice level with the table-side condiments was a great feature. I would confidently give the Pad Thai an 8/10.
The Service
A Major Area for Improvement
While the food was a mixed but generally positive experience, the service left much to be desired. From the very beginning, the service was severely lacking. I was not even acknowledged upon entering and had to seek out a staff member to be seated. This lack of initial attention set a negative tone for the entire meal.
The most significant issue was the timing of the dishes. Despite confirming that I wanted my appetizer first, the Pad Thai was delivered before I had finished my spring rolls, which was a clear misstep and a major turn-off. To make matters worse, throughout the meal, the staff did not check in on me even once. I had to wait a significant amount of time just to get their attention to pay the bill.
I understand that the staff may have been busy with other tables, including a party of eight, but attentive service is the hallmark of a great restaurant. The ability to manage multiple tables effectively is a fundamental part of the job, and it was a skill that seemed to be missing here.
Overall
More Thai has a solid foundation with its authentic and flavourful main dishes. The Pad Thai was a standout and a highlight of the meal. However, the service needs considerable improvement to match the quality of the food. Better training on timing dishes and providing attentive service would go a long way in making the dining experience truly great.
I hope they can address these issues, as the food has the potential to make this restaurant a real gem.
The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the service truly stood out. A big shoutout to May, who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re craving authentic Thai food with a friendly touch.
So, we turned and decided to come here, as the reviews were really good.
Everything was so delicious, the service was insanely fast and the servers were all so nice.
Will definitely come back again, we want to try the pad see ew.
We had been to the original location when it first opened and got takeout – the pad Thai was very tasty but overly oily but we are happy to see that the food has gotten even better!
The pork belly upgrade was a good choice as well – would recommend.
Service was cordial, nothing overly special and wish we got a water refill before asking for the bill.
Definitely coming back!
