Good spot in Waipahu. Lunch portion seems more worth it especially because I don’t eat that much. Food was fresh, broth wasn’t flavorful or spicy to me so I ended up using a lot of sauces from the bar. I enjoyed all the veggies and seafood choice too. The meats were pretty good too. Inside is clean and quiet, staff were nice, plenty of parking and seating too.

Okay, people need to be talking about this place more, because just with trying the Yakiniku Side… I’m SOLD!
Great service from our server Ian.
The portions are friendly if you’re choosing from Ala Carte, also the price is decent!
So… if you’re looking for a place with Yakiniku, or even Hot Pot… this is your place to go!
But for those who are in the know… let me put it this way… 916 is a combination of these three restaurants in name:
Sik Dorak, Hot Pot Heaven or even Hot Pot in Pearlridge, and last but not least… Shokudo. ✨️✨️✨️
Eating here was definitely an experience that I WILL come back to.
Also…their Dessert is the INFAMOUS ✨️ HONEY TOAST!!! ✨️
I cannot say it enough when I say that as soon as they brought out the honey toast and that once I took a bite… I was absolutely sold. Yakiniku and ending the night with Honey Toast that is reminiscent to Shokudos? Absolute GOLD
I again cannot say it enough, I AM SOLD!
Also, you get to take home left overs if you can’t finish your meal.
Also…Kawaii-Kon Goers… IYKYK. >:3

Great fun place for dinner. We were on the bbq side for the carnivores in the family. Great- attentive service. Fresh food- great selection. Nice to finally have a new restaurant in the Waipio area.

This place was fantastic! A hidden gem in my neighborhood. I was not familiar with the hot pot dining experience and it was explained to us thoroughly. The food was delicious. I look forward to visiting again soon

Very good food! I loved the shabu shabu station where you can pick your noodles, vegetables, sauces, and protein. The staff is very attentive and the broth they make is so good! Recommended for going out with friends, family, and date night.

Review:
916 Grill St & ShabuZen delivered one of the better hotpot experiences our group has had in a while. The Tan Tan broth was outstanding and stood out from other places we’ve tried. I also liked that everyone gets their own pot of broth, which makes the whole meal feel more personalized and lets you enjoy your own flavors.

Service was consistently on point. The servers kept our table clear and made sure we always had fresh plates and plenty of meat. The AYCE noodle, vegetable, and seafood bar was spotless and well stocked the entire time, which really added to the overall quality of the visit.

The restaurant has a fun, welcoming vibe, and the murals give the space a unique personality. All in all, a great spot for anyone craving flavorful hotpot in a relaxed setting. I’d definitely come back.

I personally went on 10/16/2025, and on the Grill St. side. It is a great restaurant to experience in Waipio! The atmosphere is great, and there is nice lighting, amazing looking outside, and good table sets. This place lets you buy the raw meat and then cook it yourself. You can also buy pre-made food like the Mandu. The meat was good quality. I would recommend this place for parties or big family gatherings. There is also a good amount of parking but since the restaurant was fairly new the parking was very limited. The prices are steep, especially for the packs of meat. Will come back again for a family gathering! ‍ ✨

The staff upfront were responsive and respectful. The serving staff was definitely on point. We were there on a Thursday and there wasn’t much people at the grill side. The food came out fast and our server ensured we were good every once a while. Recommend trying this place out.

Shabushabu side had decent variety of broth and add ons. Meat quality was good and extremely fast. Lots of parking and no wait on a Friday night at 530pm.

The first time we ate there, the food was good. The second time, the meat jun was inedible and the sauce was pretty much just vinegar. Possibly different cooks but definitely not worth taking the risk with the price being so high.
