They forced Uber Eats delivery usage and the driver dropped off to the wrong address and wouldnt respond to our calls.
So we call Big Apple and are told there is nothing they can do. Its not even 6:30pm on a Monday and the owner is forcing the poor girl on the phone to give my mother some nonsense runaround about how they cant dispatch another driver in the system or whatever.
Here’s the bottom line Big Apple; Uber screwed your delivery up and you gave your customer excuses and nonsense instead of doing the obvious; attempting to contact the Uber driver and, when that fails, sending a fresh order to your customer and sorting out your ire with Uber without involving the customer.
No one in Harbor Ridge is trying to steal pizza from you.
You’ve lost a longtime regular customer.
The girl on the phone did her best with the awful situation you put her in.
While there were a few areas they could improve on, I found Big Apple (Palm City) fundamentally sound. The folks there were very polite and were working very hard. My wife and I had ordered entries Togo so we did not dine in this time. Both entrees were quite good. For reasons too lengthy to mention here, I judge an Italian restaurant by their Eggplant dishes and I found Big Apples Eggplant quite good. The manicotti was fair, the side salads were also pretty good. My only critique of the food was the garlic knots were doughy and under cooked.
Where things didn’t go well was in preparation time. Things took longer to prepare than expected. In their defense, I ordered at peak time on a Friday night, but when I arrived to get my order I saw several others were also waiting longer for their orders. As I mentioned, the crew was working hard and trying to be as attentive to their customers as possible to minimize the inconvenience. They were aware of the time problem and even offered items like soda as a gesture of good will. I think if another person were on staff to help out and with a bit of added efficiency this place would pick up another star in their rating.
I’ve since reread those harsh reviews and I believe this business is sound and their hearts are in the right place. I’ll give them another try soon to see how things are going. It’s likely they too are under the strains of the times so a bit more patience on everyone’s part is prudent.
But I was so disappointed. I felt I needed too.
My husband and I thought it would be nice to order a pizza from Big Apple because we love the works pizza a medium,
with a side of marinara sauce on the side (large) I called around 7:30,
they said give them an hour for delivery, not a problem. I get a text saying great news your will arrive earlier at 8:05. How can you make a works pizza plus be here in 30 minutes.
BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER COOKED AND MISSING HALF OF THE INGREDIENTS THAT SHOULD BE ON IT!!!! arrived over an hour later and cold. had to microwave it just too able to eat it.
and the large marinara sauce was in a container no more an oz or 2.
I would not recommend. I wish the old owner’s / cooks where back.
Too many other good pizza places in Palm City. We’ll order from them next time. so very disappointing.
