The food was really amazing and I had no expectations but after I tried their goat curry and chicken curry and chicken wings it’s was really great in taste and the quantity and quality they maintained was amazing. The customer service was also good with the staff caring. And the buffet prices are also reasonable with limited dishes. I felt the goat meat should have been cooked more softer as it was hard but I wish it’s not same every time. On my visit I felt that expect that there are no complaints and I loved it.

My husband and I frequently visit Masala for lunch but after today, we will not anymore. We ate both dined in for the lunch buffet, and once we were finished asked our server for the check. She brought it, we paid, and walked out to leave. As we were getting into our vehicle parked out front, an entirely different server, a woman wearing glasses, ran to the door flagging us back in saying we need to pay our ticket. I told her that we already paid and walked back inside to see what the issue was. Once I walked in, she and another server start saying they are sorry. I let her know that we don’t dine and dash and we definitely paid. I also expressed that we come there often and have always paid but I won’t be anymore. As an African-American woman, this felt very discrimatory. The restaurant was filled with people of other races who were not chased down as we left. I will be reporting this incident on every platform I can find.

Excellent buffet. All the choices are the right choices. Just enough variety but not overwhelming, where you can try everything and be satisfied.
They bring naan to the table. The goat curry is phenomenal. So tender and juicy. Falls off the bone. Don’t forget to suck on that bone for a second
Very clean buffet counter. Clean plates.
Beautiful baskets of bread. The naan is so good its so crispy but not dry. And the butter smell is amazing. Ofc
And they have a bar

Update: We went back last day after I saw the owner’s response. However, the restroom condition remains the same. Played were not clean and the silverwares were unbelievably dirty. We cleaned them in the water glass before using. This time we were 4 people and they charged a 15% mandatory tip. I don’t mind tipping, but doesn’t like forcing us to pay when it was a buffet and no mention anywhere about it. They also charge 3% for credit card payment. They just lost a long time customer and taking one star out from earlier review!

Tasty food in buffet. Their naan and goat curry are exceptional. Just enough varieties for a buffet and not overwhelming. Seating arrangements are excellent and the staff are very courteous. However, I have given a single star for “Atmosphere” because of the condition of the restroom – absolutely unacceptable and disgusting (see photo). You will have a good experience if you are not using the restroom before or after eating! Management should have a serious look at this. I will go back again and update this review if the restroom is fixed. Overall rating of 3 stars is also because of the restroom cleanliness.

I honestly don’t understand how anyone could leave a negative review on this place — it’s truly a hidden gem . From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so comfortable and cared for, and the whole atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing — every dish felt thoughtful and well-made.
10/10 highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be returning.

We came for the lunch buffet and were sadly surprised about how much it had deteriorated.
Pretty much all the dishes were thinner and diluted and really did not have components of the vegetables, cheese and other items you would expect in the sauce. The seasonings were flat and though it didn’t taste bad it was significantly less flavorful.
The cost was approaching $20 a person and it was just underwhelming.
If I come back I think I’m going to order off the menu in the hope that those entrees will be at a higher level of quality.

We visited Masala Restaurant in Decatur because my guests wanted to try Indian food. Since we were in the Patel Brothers shopping area, we thought it would be a good option; unfortunately, it turned out to be a very poor choice.
The buffet area looks unclean and poorly maintained. There is very little variety of dishes, and only one dessert is offered, which is disappointing for an Indian buffet.
Neither my guests nor I enjoyed the food, as the flavor and overall quality did not meet our expectations. Additionally, when we asked for the check, we noticed that a gratuity was already included without prior notice, and there was an extra $3.00 charge for paying with a credit card, which felt unfair and lacking transparency.
Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and we would not recommend this restaurant.

After circling the parking lot and having parking wars with other people trying to find a parking spot, I was highly eager and excited to bring my daughter here for her first Indian cuisine experience and it was horrible. Felt judged for being in there. We asked for a menu, offered the buffet. My daughter and I sat across from each other upon entering, but when we had gotten back from the buffet, her seating arrangement (plate and mat, glass, utensils, etc)was moved to where her back was facing the entry. She felt as though she was being watched from our waitress standing around her. After the waitress finally walked away, I tried getting her attention and it seemed like she looked at me and looked away. The dishes at the buffet especially the white rice wasn’t hot. Not worth the $40 we spent. My daughter truly didn’t enjoy her first experience and I nor only felt bad for her but I didn’t get the chicken buriyani(not sure if I spelled it right) meal I originally came here for. Wasn’t an item on the buffet. Won’t be going back and will make sure ALL of my friends know. I have tried many Indian restaurants and this one broke my heart and yet, I still left a tip.

I ordered takeout online on Christmas Eve and was initially told the wait time would be around 40 minutes. Because the restaurant was very busy, it took a bit longer than expected, and I received my order after about an hour. That said, the food was really good and worth the wait. They also have good vegetarian options available. I would recommend this restaurant for Indian food in the Decatur, GA area.
