Actually went to a place on mountain that said it was open but they were not. My guest was wanting adult beverages. We stopped here. They don’t have them but we were hungry. We both went brisket. I got loaded baked potato salad and bacon wrapped asparagus. I also got a bison bratwurst. It was all good but that bison brat knocked my socks off. Loved their sauces. Regular and the Carolina mustard one. Small place. Tons of outdoor seating. Pet Friendly! Several tempting dessert selections but I was too full.

Seriously, the name is no exaggeration.
Discovering a place of this caliber in such an unexpected location was a total find. The owner’s genuine passion and pride in his craft are super evident, a vibe that’s becoming pretty rare these days. Our family ended up coming here all three days of our stay. We tried everything – the brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings, ribs, mac and cheese, half a chicken, and those jalapeño poppers we just couldn’t resist (had them every single day!).
Everything was amazingly delicious. But if you’re into something with a kick, you’ve got to try the in-house Carolina Reaper vinegar hot sauce. They make it in small batches, and it’s insanely good.
It’s not just the snowboarding that’s going to bring us back, but the incredible food and the dedication that goes into it.

Got the buffalo cheese sausage the night we arrived, it was good, more spicy than I would prefer. Second night got the brisket. Very tasty. For the price would prefer a side to be included. 3 stars because they open at 7am however we waited from 7 to 8 and never opened.

Had them twice for lunch at Snowshoe during UCI worlds races. The alligator rice is out of this world, the staff was exceptionally pleasant and accommodating, and the prices were good. I hope to enjoy their food next time I am up in the area!

The most delicious and satisfying dinner within driving distance of Snowshoe resort and its not particularly close! Came in with a crew of 6 friends after a day of skiing and were met with incredible hospitality and barbecue. The brisket was legit and the mac was perfect. The apple cobbler tasted smokey, which was odd if intentional, but overall an awesome experience. Definitely a must-try for any out of town visitor!

I AM THE FIRST TO EAT THEIR TURKEY LEG MUAHAHAH!!!!! Om, turkey leg had plenty of meat and good smoked flavor. I cut through the skin to be safe cause I think smoked turkey has thicker skin than chicken. The Brisket was very very good and the BBQ sauce went well with everything. The Mac n Cheese and the corn were good too. After a Turkey leg, two sides and a slice of coconut pie. I was almost in heaven, haha. The next four hours were one long blissful food coma (^_-)zZz

Almost Heaven has some great food. Their pulled pork sandwich is very tasteful, their cole slaw is outstanding, and make sure you save room for their banana pudding. Always look forward to having their food.
