We ordered the Smoked Chicken Spud plate and a side order of Smoked Chicken. It was excellent as usual. If you haven’t tried it you need to do so. You can thank me later. The sides of hushpuppies and slaw were terrific as well. Just the way I prefer them. The price was reasonable and service time was quick and accurate. Will be back soon!

I grew up in North Texas eating fried catfish regularly. I’ve had good, great, and pretty terrible catfish over the years and The Fish Place’s catfish ranks right up there with the better ones. Filets are a good size and the portions are generous. The cole slaw is a nice vinegar with white pepper. The fries were crisp and the hush puppies were well seasoned. This is definitely a return trip next time we’re in Red Bay for service on the motorhome.
It seemed most of their business was take out, but we were there for an early supper. There are about 15 or so seats in the dining room distributed among 4 or 5 tables.

We stopped here by referral by the locals. I must say. This place is a hole in the wall that serves up some of the best Hushpuppies I have ever had in my life. The catfish is top notch and the Chicken is top notch as well. If you don’t stop in and have the experience. You are missing out on some good eats.

FIRST AND FOREMOST… The girl at the window essentially lied to me. I was told the total was 36 and some change and asked if I would need a receipt. I said “Naw, I’m good.” I then handed her my card she walked away from the window with it… then my notification come across my phone saying my total was exactly 2 dollars more than she initially said. I assume she added a tip for herself on there. Wasn’t worth the hassle of fussing over the 2 bucks. She apparently needed it enough to take it so I figured let her have it. But the more I think about it the more it kinda ticks me off.
Anyhow, Food was good. Especially the fried squash that substituted for the missing hush puppies they ran out of but my issue lies in service. It took over 45 minutes for 2 plates to go not including the 20 minutes it took us to get up to the window to place our order. Which once placed we were asked to pull around front and wait. So include both wait times and we were there over an hour. Attempted calling it in before I arriving but no one would answer. Maybe they aren’t always this way but based on my experience, as good as the squash was, we won’t be back.

The servings are gigantic! I swear, my husband and I, could share one plate , and have plenty left over! Their fish is great! It is really tasty! Their hush puppies are outstanding! Highly recommend!!

Gave this place a try while in the area for work on our motorhome. A small place with only a few tables for eat in, as a lot of their business is take out. Service was fast and friendly, and as long as you stick with the fried catfish, the food is good. Don’t waste your money on the frozen shrimp. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Great fried fish, fries, hush puppies and slaw. Large portion sizes. Order at the window and have a seat until they call your name. They have a drive through window as well. Dining room is small, but still plenty of seating available.

Stopped here after kayaking at bear creek. Let me tell you they have some of the best hush puppies I have ever had. Like they were so darn good. The catfish plate was great too! I would definitely recommend this place if you like a lil bit southern cooking.
