Atmosphere and the service were excellent! 10/10 would recommend!! We will be back!
I worked in a smokehouse for 7 years in the south so I know my barbecue.
The pork was tasteless, greasy, and overcooked likely from being in a warmer already pulled. The brisket was the driest I’ve ever had and tasted the same as overcooked chuck roast.
Sides were decent. I ordered fries, mac and cheese and of course coleslaw. The slaw was fresh and tasted as such but boy did they didn’t season it with anything it seems.
Fries were hand cut, which is nice but the oil is old by the color of them.
I ordered their Memphis sauce and Alabama sauce. I’ve never see or had anything like that in my years of eating barbecue in the south from those regions. Sure, there may be somewhere that does it that way but both sauces were awful. The Memphis one was quite thick and more of a Kansas City style one with a bit less sugar and bite in it. The Alabama one closely resembles the white sauce you’d get from a Mexican restaurant and surprisingly had the most heat of anything I ate.
Overall, a real disappointment for someone who has eaten barbecue their whole life.
The workers were awesome and the decor was what you’d expect from a barbecue restaurant for the size of the place. Can’t stress enough that the workers were great, but it’s just not worth a return visit.
Update: I called to give them a heads up on the poor quality and was told that it was just taken out of the smoker.. I added one more picture of the brisket because no smoked meat should be able to hold its own weight. If it’s slow cooked at the right temp for the right amount of time then it should be soft and juicy. Only adding this because of the statement that this is the fresh meat.. I would have been fired if I served this at the smokehouse and would be embarrassed.
This one is worth the skip.
FYI – I had the mac and cheese burrito with brisket and a side of the fresh cut fries.
