We wanted to try somewhere new so we popped in the day before Thanksgiving. The owner is a breath of fresh air. He’s friendly and so helpful. He exudes confidence but not cockiness. He knows his worth and I can appreciate that. He clearly values his customers time and money. Making sure we were comfortable while we waited for our food and the quality and serving size was exceptional. A burger and fries could easily feed two people. You just would have to want to share. There are so many things on the menu that we cannot wait to try. Honestly I would love just a food tasting as he serves such a variety of foods. There is something for EVERYONE. I’m convinced. We got the opportunity to try some collard greens and the three of us were literally fighting over them. Hands down the BEST. We also met a nice family there! It truly felt like a local experience that can be unmatched by any big franchise . It was nice and quiet today and very relaxing, but I imagine he can get quite busy during lunch hours on a regular day. I meant to take a photo of the outside- but forgot. I am attaching a photo of the Nola burger, the Hawaiian burger, and some lemon pepper wings. All delicious!!

Walked in to a gentleman sitting at the counter. He treated us right away and took our order. He was very friendly and chatted with us after the meal as well. He made sure everything was exactly as we ordered it and was ready to fix anything if it wasn’t right. I ordered the shrimp and grits; it was amazing. It took me back home to NOLA without having to leave Slidell. My husband ordered the double cheeseburger. When I say huge, it’s an understatement. Each patty was almost a pound. Unfortunately, the only photo I have is a half-eaten burger because he dug right in. We also had an order of boudin balls; they came with a very tasty dipping sauce. I haven’t been to a place that I would want to go back to the very next day in a while, but this place is one for sure we will be going back to soon.

First impression was WOW! You get a lot of food. The burger was wonderfully seasoned, and BIG. Glad I didn’t go for a double. The sides are either medium or XL, I got a medium side of red beans and rice and it came out weighing about 2 pounds, definitely a meal by itself for a normal person. Shrimp and grits was $15, or $15.99, but it was enough for 2 or 3 people. Seasoned perfectly, at least 20 shrimps on top as well as some underneath the grits.
This is not fast food, it is cooked to order so there is a bit of a wait. Well worth it for fresh hot food.
The burger was high quality meat as well as the sausage in the red beans.
I have zero complaints, and nothing but positive things to say about this place.
Oh, almost forgot the beignets were wonderfully hot, soft, delicious.

Stopped in for breakfast/lunch and ordered the shrimp & egg poboy along with some fresh beignets. Everything was excellent! The poboy was absolutely loaded with shrimp — perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender inside — and paired really well with the eggs. The beignets were just as good, hot and fluffy with a generous dusting of powdered sugar. You can really taste the difference with their locally sourced ingredients, fresh and full of flavor. Great food, friendly service, and a true Louisiana feel. I’ll definitely be back!

This is a great little place with amazing food! If you are in the area and craving some awesome food, go here! I had a roast beef poboy and it did not disappoint. My wife had the shrimp and grits, which was a hefty portion with great flavor and a generous amount of shrimp. The kids’ sliders were good as well. And before you leave, you have to try their beignets, you will be happy you did. The 5-star rating is legit!

Delicious hot breakfasts and lunches! Everything is well seasoned, and perfectly cooked! The prices are very reasonable, and they do not skimp on the portions! You will have leftovers!
The place is small, 3 or 4 tables, so we just pick up and bring our food back to the office, or home.
