If you are in a pinch for Mexican food in the Western Suburbs this is viable option, but not my favorite. I have yet to find a 5 star Mexican restaurant in the Western Suburbs.
Service was friendly, but inefficient. Chips and water were not refilled. They did not give us appetizer plates either.
The pricing was fair compared to other restaurants in the area. As far as ambiance, we thought the music was slightly loud. I don’t understand the concept of the TV’s and music playing in a Mexican restaurant in the middle of the afternoon.
I ordered the carne asada which was acceptable, but not the best cut of meat. The rice was heavy on garlic and had an after taste, but on the other hand I have not loved any rice at Mexican American restaurants. My Jamaica water was good. The chips could’ve used more salt.
Overall, I would rate this place a 3/5.

I recently visited Tapatio Mexican Grill and had a great experience! The atmosphere was welcoming, the waitress Andrea was extremely friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. The menu offered a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes and the prices were very reasonable. My favorite dish was the tamales, which were made fresh and had a perfect balance of flavors and spices. I also really liked their homemade tortilla chips and salsa. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and was tasty. The combo platters were also a great deal and had a great selection for everyone. Overall, I highly recommend Tapatio Mexican Grill for a flavorful and enjoyable Mexican experience!

My husband and I ordered burritos to go. He picked them up and brought them home where we discovered they weren’t labeled (they were different) as you can imagine that’s frustrating. The burrito would have to be unwrapped to figure out which is which. Which ruins the integrity of the burrito. I called the restaurant to let them know. I was offered zero apology and was asked if I “want to bring the burritos back” – for what? My husband bit into one to find out which was which. It was mine. I was so disappointed I called again. No answer. I called again and said I wanted my money back. My husband took the burritos back. We were offered $25 for their mistake (which does not cover the cost of the meal). Still hungry and now out the money too with no apology given. We will never return and we will tell everyone we know.

We’ve had this place a couple of times, take out as well as dine in. Restaurant is very clean, nice, service was wonderful. Food is phenomenal flavor is amazing! The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is they messed up my order. This is my new go to place anyway.

I come to this location quite often however after my last 3 visits I have noticed that the quality has become horrible. My last 3 pick up orders for the 2 taco meals consisted of steak meat that was cold hard and stale. They need to do a better job at providing quality and freshness this is becoming a repeat issue. I will be going to another local taco place from now due to repeated issues with Tapatio serving cold hard steak meat in their tacos.

Loved the place I was looking around other places and I’m glad I came here the the food was really good. The steak tacos were very well seasoned. It’s hard to find good places that make them like this. Overall definitely recommend if you want authentic tasting tacos.

The server was kind, but the water arrived after we were already finished with the nacho appetizer. There was live music at far too loud a volume for the space. The drinks were weak. The food tasted good.

Tapatio Mexican Grill is a real gem in Westmont, IL. Our food was fresh and served hot off the grill. The chef did an excellent job of mixing flavors that sparked joy in our taste buds. The servers were friendly and engaging. We chose not to have the dinners, opting instead for tacos, tostada & Gordita. These are meals in and of themselves and the price was excellent.
Outdoor seating as the sun was setting made for a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite place for my 2 year old and I to get steak tacos when we have mommy and son dates. Tonight was exceptionally sweet as our server Rosaria was extremely kind and hospitable, attentive and just overwhelmingly delightful. We will be requesting her every time we go now, but we do love everyone there and the food is always on point! Thank you!
