Princess African Cuisine is an absolute gem in Kentwood! I ordered the jollof rice, egusi stew with goat meat, fufu, Puff Puff, and two different types of fried fish one of them being red snapper. Everything was absolutely delicious! The jollof rice was flavorful and perfectly seasoned, the egusi stew was hearty and comforting, and the goat meat was tender. The fufu paired beautifully with the dishes, and both fried fish options were crispy on the outside while moist and flavorful inside.
The Puff Puff was a real treat light, fluffy, and slightly sweet, the perfect way to round out the meal. I also loved the pepper sauce, which comes in both super spicy and non-spiced versions, giving you just the right amount of heat depending on your preference. The plantains were cooked perfectly, with a soft texture and a touch of natural sweetness, and I enjoyed a refreshing drink that tied it all together.
What makes this restaurant even more special is the owner and her beautiful family, who are from Liberia and bring a true West African flair to every dish. It’s authentic, welcoming, and full of love in every bite.

Very welcoming host and delicious food. Puff puff was out of this world. Egusi, fufu and fish was finger licking good. Very clean and hygienic place. Highly recommend buying the hot sauce.

When I first came into this restaurant the first thing I notice is the amazing music. I rate the experience of this place a 10/10. The food I give it a 10/10. I recommend getting the extra spice sauce. The food was already amazing but when I put the spice sauce on the fish. My mouth exploded… the flavors in the sauce is amazing… but be aware.. it’s very spicy. 10/10 for everything. If I could I would order from here everyday.

It has taken me a long time to write this review. Its hard to put the fork down long enough to type.

Ok, I walked into the Princess African Cuisine after a long day of travel and time with extended family. I was tired, my allergies killing me, and just ready for bed.
The lady behind the counter pretty much came right out from behind the counter to greet me. I explained my day, that I’d never had African food before and she was so sweet and warm. She helped me figure out what on the menu was a safe place to start for a whiter than white kid who can’t handle spice, lol!
I’m now sitting in my hotel room, with a full belly and some absolutely delicious fried plantains for tomorrow’s breakfast!!

My mother and daughter wanted to try African food so I found this place. We were treated extremely well and everyone was very friendly, our waitress recommended different foods since we were completely new to this type of food. The food was amazing very flavorful and a prefect portion, it also didn’t take too long to come out. The decor and format of the restaurant was perfect we felt welcomed from the moment we got inside until the moment we left. Everything was perfect and we will be coming back, I would definitely recommend this place!
