This food was delicious! I didn’t even know this place existed. I needed something special because of my restrictive dietary needs – I have Alpha-Gal and can’t have gluten.

The food here is great! The chicken was good. The carnitas were excellent! I had a bowl and the portions are large. The staff was very friendly! Atmosphere was fun. Our whole family ate and everyone really enjoyed their meals from here.

I was passing through (using the EV charger a block or so away across the tracks). The staff was friendly, and the vegetarian burrito bowl was delicious.
The space is tall and open and reasonably OK looking, but with minimal decor and dim “daylight” color lighting. I got there after dark (about an hour before closing) so I don’t know how it looks in natural daylight.
I was surprised to have to descend quite a few metal steps to get down to the dining floor. Is there an accessible entrance in another part of the building?
Overall my one experience was good. I can see why local folks enjoy it; if I’m here again I’ll try to get here earlier.

Food was decent the last time I had it and I paid the price they have listed for a kids taco BYO….. This time though, I was NOT gonna pay extra for the smaller portioned kids meal bc I’m not a child (which btw I was not asked if it was for a child either) and definitely not for the dry looking rice and rude customer service. Save your money and go to El Vaquero.

At first, I thought this was going to be more of a traditional Mexican Restaurant, once I open the door I realized what this was going to be. I did get excited about it because the atmosphere was very inviting. This sort of a basement was very well designed. The decor was intelligent.
As soon as I lined up to order I knew what I was going to get. They were offering birria, which is supposed to be lamb stew sorta. I didn’t bother to ask if it was actually lamb.
I got my burrito made very quickly, I also ordered the Mexican corn. The burrito size was huge!!! Packed with a lot of good stuff! The corn was a bit disappointing; for 5 bucks I was expecting more. Over all the food was good. The birria did not taste like birria but it wasn’t bad either.
I check for the bathrooms and I just guessed that they were in the back down the hall. Not dirty, not bad just a bit drafty.
Recommendations:
•you could hang a bathroom sign to show directions as to where it is.

This place is incredible!
It is much much better than similar chain style burrito places! The place has character and the staff is incredibly kind. The food was fresh and delicious. I loved the Queso, it’s some of the best I’ve had. The burritos were huge and more than enough!
Everything about our visit was top notch and the staff should be incredibly proud.
I highly recommend Rafas and will be returning next time I’m in town!

Loved this! Much more flavorful than Chipotle. I ordered online and it was ready in like 6 minutes. I ordered a steak bowl and would absolutely eat it again. My husband ordered the steak burrito and he said it was delicious. Our portions were massive – worth the money. Chips and queso were yummy. Will definitely be back!
