Ms. Robin and Michael were great to chat with.
Everything was made fresh, nothing frozen.
Appetizers, we ordered onion rings.
Oh my delicious! All 6 of us truly enjoyed our dinners. We didn’t have room for dessert, however since everything was homemade we brought several desserts home.
Soooooooooo good.
As mentioned, the food is spectacular! I was able to try the Breakfast Pie as well as the Sweet Potato pancakes and both nearly put me in a food coma cause I didn’t want to stop eating.
Highly recommend this place if you need a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life and want a nice cozy feeling with wonderful food!
This place has a special meaning now as I also realized that this used to be the “Villa at Palmer Lake”, where I worked as a waiter in the late 1980s. They really expanded the back deck and the outdoor space is perfect for weddings, parties and other events complete with a stage! I wish the new owners much success and I really hope that the Tri-Lakes residents really support this wonderful and delicious new restaurant! We’ll be back for dinner soon!!
We were greeted immediately and seated. Waiter brought menus and took drink orders. He explained specials that were not on the menu. I went with breakfast burrito and my wife had mountain pie. The burrito was large, stuffed and smothered in delicious green chili. The mountain pie is eggs, cheese and meat over a mashed potato bottom. It came with a compote of green chili, fruit, toast, and, as the waiter explained, homemade jam.
The burrito was filling, and so I took half of it home. The reason was because they had homemade cinnamon rolls and turnovers in a case when you walk in. I was definitely making room for one of those. Heated up, with icing on the side, it was as good as any I have ever had.
I will be returning; they have Guinness on tap!
One guest had the ribeye steak, which was by far the most expensive thing on the menu at $32. But the steak was HUGE, at least 16oz, and very well cooked. Mid rare in the center with a good sear. It was quality. She enjoyed the asparagus and the skin-on mashers. My other guest had the chicken fried steak, which needed a lot more seasoning. But it was a good piece of meat, with not too much coating and nicely fried. She gave high marks to the corn on the cob.
I had a properly poured Guiness and the others had lemonades. We got a Philly Cheese Steak to go, which my son thought was pretty good. Total with tip and tax was about $130 which seems like reasonable value for 4. Our server was very attentive and chatty. She gets an “A”.
This was our first visit to this new-ish local restaurant and it certainly won’t be our last. The combination of good food, great service and fun atmosphere is a winner!
