I can’t say enough good things about South Gate Deli. This place is exactly what you want in a neighborhood deli—great food, welcoming atmosphere, and people who actually care about what they’re putting out. From the moment you walk in, you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit.
A huge shout-out to Nick the chef, who absolutely crushes it every single time. You can tell right away that he takes pride in his work. The food is always fresh, cooked perfectly, and packed with flavor. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or something in between, Nick consistently delivers quality that goes above and beyond typical deli fare. He’s friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what he does, which makes the experience even better.

Guys, check out the booze! Right next door to this deli is a pretty decent wine & liquor store of the same name. Jameson Black Barrel is somewhat hard to find in pint size, so I had to snap this up! Rich & delicious.

When I came in last night the person behind the desk glared at me and then shook his head. I thought it was odd immediately. After picking out a bunch of items to purchase, he charged me 3x for something that should have been 1x. I mentioned it politely, and he made a motion for me to back off. The guy behind the counter is condescending and hostile for no reason. I asked if they sold night crawlers and he acted like it was the stupidest he’d ever heard even though the place calls itself a grocery store and is within 10 minutes of about 15 different fishing spots. On top of that the place is just a dump. I guess that guy is just upset because he’s 40+ working at a deli

New owner former employee of previous owner. Good location given a chance will do well. Has added many more new items to the store including dividing the inside with a dividing wall, which makes the Deli a separate store from the Smoke Shop & Liquor store .
