Good food, big portion. Sat inside and it felt like being in a big room that once upon a time looked very good but now only serve as space to put tables and chairs. We did not feel welcome at all. No smiles or “your welcome” in general as the waiters is to busy trying to serve the customers. We waited very long for our food and when it came at last it was not hot enough for pasta.
The one shusi shef was in a profesionel shef jacket and head cap but the other shusi sjef had a normal yellow tshirt and sports cap on and looked unprofesionel. The general shusi preparation area did not let me to order shusi.

Nice inside and outside seating.
The outdoor area is very kid/family friendly with jungle gyms and water play area which is also shaded.

Food was a little on the pricey side but they make up for that with their big portions.

Current holiday opening times:
Mon-Weds until 5pm
Thurs-Saturday until 9pm
Sundays until 5pm

I wish they had sushi platter options as well, hopefully something they can add in the future.

More than enough parking.
There is also a rose “beer garden” plus wine tasting areas which are 5mins walk passed the Bos Amis restaurant.

Food was average, nothing to rave about . Had the line fish which was yellowtail for the day , tasted abit frozen not much flavor to it. Veggies was good. Friend had the ribs and did say it was great and saucy . Cocktaila are reasonably priced and good . Waiter was very friendly and helpful answering all our questions .

Love love love this place ❤️ if you have a toddler and like good food with some good wine then this is the venue for you i do recommend you book a table to avoid any disappointments. The pizza is absolutely amazing, and they even serve Shusi. The play area is very well laid out, and you can even host kiddies under some shade for your little one. The bathrooms are also equipped to change a baby.

When a focaccia turns out to be a pizza; when a pizza turns out to be from Dr Oetker; food doesn’t arrive and chips from Wimpy are better!

Worst meal in Cape Town in 5 years!! Went to Bon Amis at Bloemendal.

I can’t begin to tell you how bad the food was.

Ordered a Margherita pizza that was bland and the flat dough was tasteless and just like a Dr Oetker frozen pizza. Next was buttermilk fried chicken burger with mushroom sauce and chips. Burger was tasteless, sauce was creamy and had zero taste, fries were completely limp. Also ordered beer battered hake and chips and focaccia with 2 dips. All chips were limp and after requesting fresh chips, the same limp awful chips arrived. Focaccia never arrived and after requesting it again, arrived 15 minutes later and it was….A PIZZA. Called over manager to ask why a focaccia was delivered as a pizza only to be told that was “how we do it”. Seriously, if you say focaccia, then that’s what I would expect. Also complained to manager about the bland food and soggy chips and was met by a shrug.

I asked for the pizza/focaccia to be replaced by the same one panini bread that was served with the chicken burger and when it arrived was just pieces of toasted plain bread instead.

Food was made without any care and clearly
no one in the kitchen was tasting anything.

I did write to the Manager and put in a complaint, and they refunded the cost of the meal which was a suitable gesture.

We visited Bon Amis for a kid’s birthday party and were very impressed with their play area. It’s spacious and offers a wide variety of things to keep kids entertained. The best part was that the area is covered by big trees, providing plenty of shade to keep the little ones cool. We didn’t have a sit-down meal ourselves, but the canapes that were served were fresh, tasty, and a good variety. I can also highly recommend the Bloemendal Blanc De Blancs MCC, which ensured that the parents were also kept nice and cool. This restaurant seems very popular with families with young children. If you’d like to sit close to the play area, I definitely recommend making a booking. We had a great time and will definitely be back to try some of the other items on their menu.

Capetonians are really in love with wine farms and their restaurants. The establishments are always packed. And this stretches from Franschoek to Stellenbosch to Durbanville to Paarl to Worcester. In fact the whole of the Western Cape.

Bloemendal with their restaurant is no exception. We visited Bon Amis Family Restaurant as part of a group celebrating my niece’s send off to her Matric Ball.

We decided to have lunch as we waited and I had a very nicely prepared Beer battered hake with french fries. Delicious and filling. My wife and daughter had dessert. The one had Chocolate Fondante and the other had Malva Pudding with custard.

As part of the celebration we had pizzas (of which I could not have any because of the big lunch) and some lovely Bloemendal wines.

Lovely time was had by all and I must say the Bloemendal Merlot is a must try.

We ordered the Foccacia, and it was average as it was a pizza with braised onion and little bits of garlic. Our sushi took and hour and a half to come. The sushi however was delicious. We weren’t check up on much. Our friend had a burger and his sauce came 20 minutes after he was eating. Overall, the kitchen seems all over the place. Long wait. But nice setting
