Today when we walked into Sancova Restaurant, we stood at the front waiting to be greeted. The hostess and/or waitress was sitting down wiping menus and never acknowledged us. We were left standing there until the man behind the bar noticed us and said something to Yvette. A simple “Hi, we’ll be right with you” would have made a much better first impression.
Unfortunately, this is my second visit with the same waitress, and both experiences have been disappointing. Her customer service has been consistently poor. While I was still sitting at the table clearly drinking and enjoying my margaritas, she came over asking for payment as if we were finished. It felt rushed and uncomfortable, like we were being pushed out instead of welcomed to enjoy our time.
Good service makes a big difference in the overall dining experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the lack of basic acknowledgment and the rushed feeling really affected our visit.
If you’d like, I can also make it even firmer or more direct.

II had the pleasure of being served by Yvette during brunch, despite the place being packed and lively with a saxophone playing in the background, she was incredibly attentive. Yvette recommended a fantastic Mexican sampler appetizer, which was a hit, along with perfect drink suggestions. She even gave us delightful dessert ideas, and every part of the meal was wonderful. I highly recommend this place—excellent service and food!

Very delicious food and great service. Came here for my mom and sisters birthday and they definitely gave us the experience we wanted. My favorite was the chilaquiles and French toast. Yvette was our waitress and she was fantastic!!

On our back to Santa Monica from ’26 new years in Las Vegas. we discovered a new place right next to the freeway “Sancova Mexican Grill&Bar”. Fairly new, opened in February of 25,,but amazingly delicious. We tried Arrechera plate, melt in your mouth soft and flavorful. Fajita combo, same flavor but added yammmi chicken breast, last but not least queso Fundido with shrimp. Guey cheese that is not greesy with grilled shrimp out of this world. Don’t forget to try the meszcal with Tamarindo one of the best drinks on the menu.

This place is a hidden gem. When you walk in there door you are greeted with a beautiful space WITH chandeliers, faux marble tabletops gold plated silverware is beautiful. Although you can’t tell from the outside the INSIDE IS GREAT. It would be a great place for a group of 10-15 to have a very nice authentic Mexican meal along with fantastic table service. The guacamole is so very fresh. They could do a little better with the kind of chips they server but that is just my opinion.
It was my son’s 27th Birthday and the staff came out put us some barrel on my son and had a great dance to celebrate his birthday. It was wonderful they served him a nice group of ice cream with whipped cream on top on a plate that said happy birthday in chocolate on it very impressive. Thank you guys for a wonderful meal and great service. Wet will be going back

This restaurant is amazing, great vibe and the owner Arturo is present and attentive making sure service and food is 100%. Brenda is an excellent waitress and made sure she followed up on our table. I recommend you stop by for the amazing experience. The food will not disappoint you.

I had such a great experience at Sandoval Mexican Grill & Bar! I called ahead to ask if I could bring my little dog, and they were incredibly kind and welcoming about it. From the moment I arrived, the staff was so helpful and genuinely nice—it really made me feel at home. And the food? Absolutely delicious! You can tell they put love into every dish. Great service, great vibes, and great food. I’ll definitely be coming back!
