If you’re looking for a late-night spot to satisfy those after-hours cravings, Big Apple Pizza N Grill definitely delivers on the hours—just like the real Big Apple. Open until 3AM on weekdays and 5AM on weekends, it’s a solid go-to when everything else is closed.
I had to try their chopped cheese since that’s a New York deli staple, but honestly, it didn’t live up to true NYC expectations. It wasn’t bad—actually still pretty good—but definitely not on the same level as what you’d get in New York. I’m still curious to try their pizza to see if they can capture that New York slice authenticity. The chicken wings were decent too—nothing mind-blowing, but they hit the spot, especially if you’re ordering late at night or after a few drinks.
Overall, a convenient late-night option worth checking out, especially if you’re craving munchies in the early hours

So I tried a chopped cheese “The Ocky Way” and was not impressed with all the hype! The sandwich was average at best and the smoothie was real watery and lacked that thick smoothie consistency. I spent $30 for a sandwich and a smoothie that took almost 30 minutes to make! There’s no room inside to wait or dine and if you’re not used to this part of town I can see how it can be overwhelming for some people. I most likely will not return here to try out other items on the menu.

I love this place! I can’t say one bad thing. The man who helped me was really good at his job. He took my order, cooked the food and packaged it up all on his own. He did it all so quick and cooked it perfectly and was so nice. I got the chopped cheese, curly fries, bacon cheeseburger burger, peach cobbler and banana pudding. It was all so good. They take EBT and are open until I think 5am. They have a huge menu and even have a smoothie menu. They have a big selection of sweets too that are not on the menu. They’re prices are really reasonable. All the hard work they have put into making this place successful really does show. I wish them the best of luck.

I visited Big Apple Pizza and Grill in San Francisco to try their Chopped Cheese sandwich, and while the food itself was solid, the overall experience left much to be desired. The sandwich was tasty, but the customer service was disappointing. My order was incorrect—I specifically asked for no tomato, but it came with tomato, and I ordered waffle fries but received curly fries instead. Mistakes happen, but the lack of attention to detail and care in fixing the issue made it frustrating. Despite the food being good, the poor service overshadowed the experience. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself returning or supporting the business in the future.

Delicious hot food cooked to order quickly because they aren’t sacrificing service by cutting staff.

Revised review. The food is actually pretty amazing (not the pizza) but the sandwiches and smoothies are regular meals for me now.
I personally love the Texas chopped cheese, it has a fried egg that helps bring everything together and prevents the sandwich from feeling too dry.
The smoothies are expensive, almost the same price as a regular sized chopped cheese but considering the location the fact that they have smoothies at all is incredible.
Last two things I’ll say, opt for the larger sized sandwich (the hero), for an extra 2 bucks you get double the food.
And lastly the one major downside…. be prepared to wait in line to order and also a long wait to get your food especially during peak “drunk hours”. **Either place your order and run another errand or order online.**
