First things first they set down this large display of small side plates. I had no clue what some of them were but all of them were at least good. I really enjoyed not knowing what I was gonna get flavor or texture wise from them. Really enjoyed the lotus root. I had to write my scores for that because I don’t know what half of them are haha.
The fried chicken appetizer is a must have. It’s unbelievably tasty and seems to get better as you eat it. It has a sweet and savory flavor combo with some honey based sauce on them. For me, they would be perfect if they were spicy. I’d love some heat to that sweetness. But they were still amazing and something I think everyone should order from here.
The Bibimbap was exceptional as well. The egg cooked perfectly to be runny to add to the sauce in the bowl. Really tasty veggies and meat in there. Everything tasted so fresh and bright and invited me to eat every bite. This too would have been perfect if it was a bit spicier. I did have a nice heat to it but I would love more! Still awesome though.
I will make an effort to come back to this place again.
It was our first time, we ordered blindly. We got the dumplings as a starter, then ordered the Bibimbop and the stir fried chicken as our entrées. The food was freshly cooked when it arrived, the flavors were ok, overall not as good as we expected based on the rave reviews. I enjoyed our meal more than my daughter, and did appreciate all of the tiny accoutrements, which made it more fun to try, however we both agreed we probably would not return. For the over $60 dinner bill, it was just an OK experience, not what we had hoped, but maybe we just didn’t order the best things.
It was fun to try something new and we always support independent small business when we can.
The service is excellent. The free small dishes are so various and delicate! Worth to have a try!
We ate nearly all of the dishes!
2024 – The pork bulgogi was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked with fresh vegetables and the right amount of seasoning. Their banchan was not overly salty and was perfect. A wide variety was available too. Not overly Americanized and the food was very authentic. Quick service and good pricing on their lunch specials. Lunch specials are on Tue-Fri. Will visit again in the near future.
It was super busy, which is always a good sign.
Would definitely return if we are in the area
