They say you can’t judge a book by its cover, and that is certainly true at Tic Toc. Under its plain exterior and quirky name you will find a top-notch fine-dining Italian restaurant. What a delightful surprise! The cheerful and efficient Sarah served the whole room with grace and a smile. My soup and salad was outstanding, and a visit from the new owner Victor a special treat. He gave a brief 80-year history of the establishment, and a clear vision for its present incarnation. Boone has a hidden gem!

excellent service from the hostess and wait staff, the gal that waited on us was perfectly present not overbearing. the bread and oil is very good. The owner walks out to check on the guest’s, it is a very nice touch for him to be present! I believe he also is the chef, and he is excellent at it. I’m always nurvious to order expensive cuts. But I tried the lamb chops 28.99 I believe. I ordered them rare and they were very good the risotto is also good. well worth the money spent!

Absolutely love the owner! He’s the nicest Italian fella ive ever met, and he truly cares about your experience and the food! It is expensive but well worth it! If you have not tried tic toc you are seriously missing out! Amazing food every time! Nice quiet setting for a romantic night out or bring the kids they love them as well!

Absolutely the best Italian cuisine! The tiramisu is to die for! Excellent customer service. The Wait staff are professional and personal. Victor makes sure to visit every table to assure you have everything you need. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Boone.

One of their specials tonight was Sea Bass with vegetables. Plentiful and delicious! The fish was very tender while the vegetables each maintained their texture and were very flavorful in a delicate sauce. Superb flavors; will definitely order this again! Thank you for the experience!

Phenomenal. You’d never suspect to find such a 5 Star dining experience in an out of the way town like Boone, Iowa, but believe me, it exists at the Tic Toc Italian Trattoria! Should you go, plan to spend at least two hours inside this anything but pretentious establishment. It’s pleasant and comfortable atmosphere is further enhanced by the welcome greetings every customer receives from the owner and members of his family. They make you feel as if you’re a guest in their home. Libation servings are generous as are the food portions which will remind you of Southern Italy fare. In other words, real Italian dishes that you’ll want to savor, not just consume. Prices are moderate, but here, you do get what you pay for…and the dining experience is always phenomenal!

Went there for the first time for my birthday. I wasn’t expecting a bar, but we decided to give it a chance. I wish we hadn’t. It was the worst thing ever. Our waitress was unhappy and rude. Never once came and asked us while we were eating if it was good or if we needed anything. At the beginning of the meal, we asked for something simple, she proceeded to go to a table of her friends and talk to them for about five minutes, then go to the kitchen and grab what we had asked for. My steak was over cooked and super chewy. Not worth the $15 I payed. I couldn’t even finish it, and I LOVE steak… Will NEVER go back!!!
