Well well well… Uni, OToro, really good quality fish and friendly staff? Yes please. This place delivers and more. The ambience is modern and the food is amazing. I was looking for a good place to eat and just happened onto this spot, and super happy I did. Very fresh sushi with a contemporary twist if desired. I like mine traditional and it was on par.
You guys keep doing what you’re doing!

We stumbled upon this place when looking to see where we could spend our expiring inkind cash back.

The place was pretty slow on a Sunday night and had a cartoon playing on tv. The restaurant in general was dimly lit and relatively moody.

Before I go in depth on what we ordered, here’s my verdict and reasoning for the rating:
The fish itself seemed like it was of good quality. You may then ask: if that’s the case, why the 3 stars Salman? Service. Service was the reason. Our server and the speed at which we were getting our food was pretty lackluster. And our server, simply wasn’t on top of stuff. She would disappear for long stretches and wouldn’t come back to either check on us or to even take our order in the beginning. For instance, when I started ordering nigiri’s, she had to stop me because while she initially thought, she could remember everything, she realized it would be better to write things down. What a fantastic thought.

The chefs were very kind, but slow. We wanted to order another escolar nigiri and potentially more items, but refrained from doing so, just because of how long everything else took.

Here’s all that we ordered:
– Hama chili: the yellowtail seemed fresh and was a good indication that the fish would be good. The dish itself wasn’t the best hamachiili we’ve had.
– Cherry blossom: rice less roll that was better than expected.

Here are the nigiri’s we ordered:
– Flounder: sweet. Not very chewy
– Escolar: buttery, torched but no smoky flavor, good. Top 3.
– Hamachi: flat and lacked flavor. Would’ve liked some more ponzu or spice
– Saketoro: slightly fishy. Went down very smooth though
– Kinemedai: very fresh. Slightly bitter.
– Masunosake: also very flat. We won’t order salmon here again.
– Otoro: fantastic. Smooth and buttery. Our favorite
– Otoro handroll: basic but the fish was spectacular.

We are visiting Dallas and came to Musashi for a late night dinner. The server was extremely kind and the staff were very accommodating of my gluten allergy. The kitchen was able to make a lot of the items gluten free with gluten free soy sauce.

There were plenty of of traditional sushi rolls and fried sushi rolls but also a lot of great non sushi dishes that were absolutely worth it.

The restaurant is also open late which is a huge plus for us. Highly recommend, and I wish we had one in Arkansas!

No hyperbole, the worst ramen I’ve had in my life. The tonkatsu ramen had bland broth, a fishy taste, and chewy meat. The gyoza was $12.50 for 5 pieces, which were sitting ontop of a weird tomato-like stew and weren’t good. My husband’s spider roll had shell casings inside the sushi, which my husband spit out and put to the side (I provided a picture). We ordered the fried chicken plate with fried rice and vegetables for our kids, and it was terrible. We ate what we could because we were hungry, not because the food was necessarily good. We figured since we’ll be charged for it we might as well eat it. To top it off, our server was short, borderline rude, and not friendly at all. I basically matched her energy throughout our meal. I didn’t leave a great tip, mainly because for ~$92, I expected better food and service. I felt robbed enough of the bad food, that the bad service didn’t help with me feeling compelled to leave a decent tip.

Really great Japanese restaurant. Their lunch specials are a bargain and a lot of food for the money. Their nigiri (I had salmon) was very fresh and tasty.

The fried rice was excellent as was the Sukiyaki.

Friendly staff.

Update- This place continues to wow! Exceptional food, superb drinks (now with expanded list of Japanese whisky and sake) and great service!

Delightful sushi experience! This place is very nice. The fish and beef quality is superb!
Enjoyed the Hamachi crudo, chicken Karage, King salmon sashimi, Sake toro, Hamachi toro and Paradise maki.

A must try place. I will be coming back often and will try the ramen dishes too.

As an Asian who has visited Japan many times, I can confidently say this is not the right place for authentic Japanese food. We ordered ramen and sushi rolls, and both were disappointing. The rice in the sushi roll was far too sticky and clumped together, lacking the proper texture. To make matters worse, the ramen was completely tasteless—it felt like it was missing the depth and richness you’d expect from a real broth. On top of the mediocre quality, the prices are significantly higher than your typical Japanese restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for an authentic experience.

This is an absolute HIDDEN GEM. The food and service were top tier and the atmosphere was relaxed but just fancy enough. The blue fin tuna in the sashimi was AMAZING and the lychee martini was the best cocktail I’ve had in a long time.

I visited Musashi Frisco on a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised to get seated easily without a reservation—a great start to the evening! The experience was memorable, especially with some standout dishes.

We started with the Bun Shelf Crab, a unique and flavorful appetizer. The texture and taste were unlike anything I’ve had before. The calamari, paired with their special fragrant sauce, was a delight. Adding coriander elevated the aroma and taste, making it a harmonious blend of flavors.

The Blossom Cherry Roll was another highlight—wrapped in tuna and served without rice, it’s a perfect option for anyone who enjoys a rich, fatty flavor. For the main course, we tried the thin, tender steak, which was wonderfully complemented by their special sauce.

The Seafood Udon Pasta had a unique taste, but it might not be for everyone. The dish was quite rich, with only four shrimp and one scallop, and the overall flavor leaned towards being fatty, which could be overwhelming for some.

Overall, Musashi Frisco delivers a distinct dining experience with creative flavors and high-quality ingredients. Just be mindful of the richness in some dishes. I’d definitely recommend it for a unique sushi and fusion experience!

Came here for a nice birthday dinner with the wife. Sat at the sushi bar & started off with some miso, a couple of specialty rolls (one was riceless & wrapped in tuna–delicious), & finished the night with a tasty dessert. Thanks Musashi, had a great birthday dinner!!
