In 1950 our Grandpa Johnson opened our first location in Bexley, Ohio and he has since been an inspiration to three generations of ice-cream makers. He started Johnson’s Real Ice Cream with a commitment to quality, community, and the simple joy of a cold ice cream cone (or pint, or sundae—there’s no wrong way to eat ice cream). Each flavor we make is a testament to the things he loved and a reflection of his personal quirks. He was a good man with a contagious laugh who worked hard and always had fun. Thanks for keeping his legacy alive by enjoying his famous flavors!

We got a milkshake and a sundae, great flavor and many options to select from. Also sampled a few flavors.
Teenagers that were working were friendly and attentive. Could benefit from a manager being present to help with oversight – long line/outdoor window not being helped/tables needed cleaned, etc.
Plenty of parking.
Visited began with a vehicle exiting the tight parking situation via the entry. Doing so slowly and all over the drive.
Great as usual greeting on entry. Ordered a hot fudge sundae. First attempt by male server turned out to be too much ice cream and an overflowing abundance of fudge. Looked like a creation by a kid. He threw that out and went for a banana sundae container
Ugliest and poor quality sundae I’ve had. One scoop of cookies and cream. That turned out to be stringy? The concoction pulled apart rather than slicing cleanly with the spoon. Huge splat of whipped cream that did nothing for the presentation.
Great amount of hot fudge. In all a sad soggy thing. At least the ice cream was cool. The hot fudge great tasting in moderation.
I had the ingredients but not the value
A note of interest. Take a look at your dining area and customers in the supposed four people booths. There is enough space in that area to enlarge them to allow four real papyri fit. Maybe a right die for kids and thin teens. For the rest?
We were not disappointed at all. The flavors were good, the texture and creaminess was exactly as it should be.
Service was fast and friendly as well. We would definitely come back, if we are in the area. They had today listed some unique “favorite” flavors, which we did not try.
Look forward to trying them next time around.
The staff was also very friendly and knowledgeable and offered to make a spritzer that I wouldn’t have considered. Next time! Their portion sizes are great!
