We were from out of town, but we love Mediterranean food! So when we found Helios’ we had to try it! It was great! Food tasty, quick and the service was top notch! The polenta was a bit bland, but from everything we ordered…. Everything else was very fresh and refreshing. Seating is only outside, so it was perfect for us that day. But if it was rainy, we may not have ever went. Definitely will return, rain or shine next time.

Pro-tip… plan your Ocracoke trip around Helios’ Hideaway hours because you definitely need their fresh pita and hummus at minimum for your beach snacks, but we recommend getting a little bit of everything to share as it was all delish… our favorites… figgy pizza (seasonal special), Siren Pizza, hummus with harissa (hot but so good), hummus with pesto (seriously the best pesto!), any of the pita wraps, falafel, couscous salad sides, and baklava! We loved it all so much we made a second visit on our departure day to take some home with us! Will absolutely be back every trip to Ocracoke from now on! Also, the owner is amazing too…so friendly and top notch customer service. Thank you again!

Breakfast was simply excellent! Tasty Southern style Grits n Eggs, toast n biscuits, meat and not…..
Lunch featured more of the Mediterranean style and we enjoyed Greek pizza and a meaty Minotaur. Daily special kabobs were super!
“Don’t forget the Baklava!” Simple (not too sweet!) and very tasty.
Nice selection of beverages and very friendly service; a real jewel on Ocracoke Island!

So delicious! I had the Crete pita with falafel and a side of lemon/basil couscous, and it was so good! The owner is so nice, and the little shopping center is like a community. You can get some exotic flavored tea next door and have your food and drinks on the patio. We will definitely go again next time we visit Ocracoke!

This was the only restaurant which we visited for lunch and returned back for a repeat the next day. Lot of options, friendly staff, tasty meals. You order food and then can sit outside and eat. Thai Moon and Moonrakers tea share the same.outside seating area..in case you want to enjoy a cup of tea with your meal. We heard their breakfast is also very very recommended but did not get. A chance to eat breakfast. The lamb meatballs, gyro sandwiches and falafel.sandwiches we’re all to die for and have to mention the side of hummus…the best ever.

Edit: came back for lunch again today and it was just as great! This is a must visit lunch spot on the island.
Edit again: we come to this place every year when we visit the island and it is always spectacular. I must add a warning this time though: the harissa sauce on the Hades wrap has a “HOT” warning for a reason! Holy cow is that wrap spicy! But as always, this place has the best food on the island.
