My friend I just had dinner at Bella Colibri. From the homemade pasta and sourdough to the outstanding waitstaff, we couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. I highly recommend Bella Colibri for an authentic Italian meal in the beautiful, scenic town of Golden, CO.

Golden is seriously lacking in high quality options for a date night but this is one of the few that I’d recommend. Food was all top notch, with great cocktails, fresh made pasta, and seasonal ingredients.

Everything we had was great. Our waitress recommended the potato gnocchi with beef cheek which was very comforting on a cold winter day. My wife had a lighter vegetarian pasta dish with homemade pesto. The cocktail that I ordered was balanced and well made. We also had the homemade sourdough, served with 4 different topping options!

My only wish was that the chocolate cake we had for dessert be served warm. It came with a citrus sauce and candy orange peel, both of which accompanied the cake perfectly!

We will be back!

This place is adorable and charming and the service was up to par. But the food was disappointing, especially for the price point. The sourdough starter was great, we especially loved the garlic butter. But there is no way their pasta is made in house daily as they claim. We had the clam spaghetti and the lasagna and while both were presented beautifully, they both lacked flavor. The pasta was chewy and the sauce was watery. They did provide a large amount of clams in the pasta but that was the end of the impressiveness of the dish. I’d save your money and find a better place to eat Italian food.

Bella Colibri is a hidden gem — truly the best Italian restaurant in the greater Denver area. We hosted our private wedding rehearsal dinner here for about 50 guests. It started with cocktails and appetizers on the back patio, and then we had our beautiful dinner indoors. Everything was perfect! The event organizer was proactive and thorough, guiding us seamlessly through food and drink selections in advance of the event. Every staff member was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive — the hospitality exceeded our expectations. The food was out of this world: beautifully plated, perfectly timed, and full of fresh, vibrant flavors. Many guests said it was the best meal they had all year!

Had a fantastic meal here! The orcchiette was delicious, and the dessert special (peach upside cake with raspberry mascarpone, made with local ingredients) was truly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. If you see a dessert made by Amira on the menu, do yourself a favor and order it — she’s incredibly talented and makes amazing desserts!

Service was excellent and cocktails were fantastic. The food had a great presentation but not much flavor couldn’t even taste the listed ingredient.

I have been to this restaurant twice and have been so impressed each time! The food is amazing and creative, the atmosphere is delightful, and the service is always wonderful. Thank you to our waitress Madison who took great care of us last night! It was the perfect place to dine before they turned the lights on in Golden at the Old Holiday Candlelight Walk.

We got: Bucatini, Pork Shank, Olives for an app, and the chocolate lava cake for dessert.

We had amazing dining experience and our server, Danielle, was very attentive. The ambience in the restaurant feels like an quaint upscale restaurant.

We had the arancini balls to start and I would recommend.

For dinner my husband and I split the lasagna and bison short rib gnocchi. Both were excellent and we even had leftovers. I read a review that said that the lasagna was just meh, but I disagree, give it a try!!!

My wife and I finally discovered Bella Colibri and we both have no idea how we managed to live without it. It stands on an unassuming side street in Golden Colorado in one of the oldest buildings in the state. The interior is tasteful yet sublime with exposed brick and tall ceilings, and has a wonderful but quaint bar back near the corner of the dining room.
Now let’s talk about the menu… wow. From traditional Italian fair to exciting new takes on old classics like lamb osso bucco and tuna concerva and wonderful hand made pasta like bucatini, cappelletti and gnocchi there is so much to love and explore.
We decided to start with the olives and the baked bread plate. Both were wonderful and seem to be a perfect way to start the meal. My wife chose the porcini cappeletti and I decided to go more traditional route with the handmade lasagna that by the way was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. She had a Cabernet and I tried the Abruzzo, both were flavorful and complemented the meal nicely. Although the lobster gnocchi beckoned I decided to leave it for next time. One small stumbling point was the menu we viewed online was not exactly accurate with the menu we encountered at the restaurant, most of it was the same but I thought I would mention that in case this might be a problem for some people.
Eric was our server and was outstanding and professional in every regard even going as far as to give several excellent recommendations and wonderful descriptions of the food. We ended with my wife choosing a lemoncello and I had a simple latte. For as wonderful an evening as we had and as spectacular as the food was we felt the price was very reasonable and quite frankly can’t wait to return. Whether you are looking for a romantic dining experience or a fantastic family dinner the food the service and the ambience will absolutely help create some wonderful memories.
