This Japanese deli offers takeout like bento boxes for lunch, along with soups, sushi & donburi.

Tried their Bento-box with a pork katsu and a salmon onigiri on the side. It wasn’t bad, food is decent, but nothing super special. It’s a bit pricy for the amount of food. But if you don’t eat much, may be a good deal.

Very yummy food at this Japanese delicatessen! The 9-piece bento box was a lovely sampler, but I do wish it had more fish. The poke was also yummy. The salmon and avocado rolls were generous portions and lovely bites, the perfect lunch! Don’t forget to grab a rice ball, they’re easy to miss but really lovely eats. Service was kind and quick.

Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the ferry building! The quality of food is incredible, service is extremely quick as you would expect from a deli, and outdoor seating is easy to come by. The Bay breeze and mountain landscape created a picturesque environment for eating. The Hijiki and Soybean Salad and Beef Ginger Onigiri were by far the best of the items I tried.

Very popular place. Long queue around lunch time. I got the 2 sides and 1 main. It’s a bit of a rush to order, so couldn’t take the time to see what the options were properly. One of my salads I really didn’t like. But the aubergine salad & the tofu steak were great! Very vegan friendly.

The bento was really good. The vegetables were fresh and seasoned delicately. It was just like ones from a delicatessen at a department store in Japan.

To be exact this place is located inside the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Three stars for now. We came in to this Japanese Deli at the latter part of the afternoon so the food maybe not be as fresh as if you were to come earlier in the day. We came for dinner. They serve bento box like meals, small plates and some sushi, other stuff, and drinks.
We got some sushi, a small plate of curry beef with rice, and a potato/vegetable fry thing. The food was okay. The staff weren’t really that friendly and they seemed to not hear us well because we kept repeating our order. The potato/vegetable fry thing would have been really good if it was served hot. They didn’t offer to heat it up. There are plenty of community tables but you have to be aware of your surroundings!!!

This place was very busy, but well worth it. Food was absolutely delicious (I had the Modern Norwegian sandwich and my friends had the Egg sandwich). European restaurants are much more relaxed so don’t expect immediate service or the waiters/waitresses to be at the will of all your requests. However, our waitress, Victoria, made sure we were well taken care of and did an amazing job helping us! 10/10 would recommend!

Was there for just a short bit but got the beef curry, and it was ASTOUNDING. Definitely worth the price. I was worried the beef was going to be weird, tough, or fatty. Was perfect all the way through, not too spicy or dull. Only thing I hate is that I live on the other side of the country and can’t go back anytime I want on a whim. Get yourself some!

So I have been one of the few customers that has been coming to Delica since it opened pre pandemic. Unfortunately I haven’t come in for the last 12 months. Today was the day I went in for nostalgia because I really love the beef curry. Unfortunately it was not what I had expected or hoped. I spent almost $18 after taxes and $20+ after tips for just a beef curry with no sides. What I hoped for was beef in my curry and what I got was just potatoes in my curry. If I wanted was potato curry with 2 small pieces of beef for $20 then I would’ve gotten what I ordered. But unfortunately I ordered beef curry and it was not it. It was tasty like I’ve always expected it to be, but I don’t think $20 for negligible protein is the way to go. I’m sorry but do better.
