Since 2014, Gus’ BBQ has featured traditional Santa Maria style barbecue including Tri Tip, Chicken, Beef Ribs, beans and more! We also have a variety of quality smoked meats, fresh salads, sandwiches and specialties. We don’t specialize just in food though, we offer a variety of specialty cocktails, whiskey, beer wine and more in our Loft Bar with a spectacular 140 video wall to watch your favorite games. GAVIOTA cocktail and gaming lounge is our new hidden gem. The speakeasy is a bit hidden as you have to enter through the RED DOOR. It is Under the same roof as Gus’ but it is separate enough that it feels like you are in another world. We feature 15 video gaming machines with poker, black jack, keno and more.

This little place is a gem. The food and bbq were great. The drink menu was not up to date so that was a little disappointing. However, they still had some local drink options. They also brought out warm home made chocolate chip cookies for us!

Tried the Ribs and the pulled pork. Both tasted really good! Staff was really friendly. Its probably one of the few places which are open late night as well. We went there at 8.30 pm. They’ve got seating at both the floors, so don’t think you will ever be asked to wait

We had dinner here after a day of hiking, and it was fabulous! The food was fantastic, and we were served quickly. Our waiter was friendly and did an excellent job! We are sad that we live in North Carolina so can’t visit frequently. Highly recommend Gus’ BBQ!

I thought with a name using open pit BBQ that I would smell it before the door or when I opened the door, I didn’t. We got the 3 piece sampler. It was ribs, tri tips, and pulled pork.
Ribs – dry and over cooked. When the bone crumbles, it’s overcooked.
Pulled pork – very plain. No smoke flavor and had no seasoning taste from the rub.
Tri tips – must be their version of a brisket. No real flavor and the bark didn’t even have flavor.
We also got grilled vegetables. I’m got sure they never saw a grill. Maybe a frying pan.
I sampled the beans, they shouldn’t taste like chili. Simple brown sugar, molasses, and a little pulled pork could turn those around.
I know BBQ is different everywhere, but there is at least a standard that everyone needs to meet in order to be called a BBQ restaurant.
Best advice, visit Virginia, Texas, and Georgia.

Great vibes, good service and good food. I ordered a stuffed potato with pork. It came out with no meat. They quickly fixed it and were extremely apologetic. Potato and the pulled pork were good. Not a huge fan of the coleslaw. Pickle Fries with the Chipotle Mayo were great! Will definitely give it another try! Price was actually decent compared to other restaurants in town.

Friendly and patient service, but OK food. We arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes before 9(the closing time of the restaurant.) We sat down at one of the many tables in the upper part of the restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly and attentive waiter who took our orders almost immediately. As for the food, our ribs were bland and chewy. The burger on the other hand was great, with the perfect amount of seasoning and ingredients. Our salad was oversalted, but otherwise fine. Overall, a good restaurant.

Went on a whim after looking at other reviews and ratings, was not disappointed. Menu has a lot of options, service was terrific, atmosphere was enjoyable, and most importantly the food was delicious! To clarify, ALL the food was terrific, I had Chicken, Tri Tip, MacNCheese, Garlic Bread, and Caesar Salad. Would definitely go back again.

Food was decent. A bit pricey based on the portions. It is sad they do not have brisket and the pulled pork was okay.
My problem was the service. Once the server figured out we would not splash out or order drinks, her demeanor changed. Not everyone drinks alcohol and soda.
