Me and my friend went there for lunch. The server was super nice. We ordered aaloo tikki chaat and samosa chaat for appetizers both were very yummy. For main course I got malai kofta and Tawa paratha. She got egg keema. I also got chicken tikka masala and garlic naan for my husband to go. Everything was very delicious. I asked for Indian spicy but to me the taste was still mild which is fine as long as the food taste good. For dessert we ordered gulab jamun and gelabi. The gulab jamun was nice and fresh but the gelabi was not the best tasting and had a very bad after taste and didn’t taste fresh. I would definitely be come back but won’t be getting the gelabi anymore, might try the rusgula next time.

Delicious, with amazing service!
We ordered the chicken tikka masala, mixed vegetable khadhai, and the garlic cilantro naan. Everything was delicious! You can tell that they put extra effort in all their dishes. Even their rice (which comes automatically with every dish) is made specially with peas, star anise, and other spices. Also, their mango lassi (think yogurt smoothie) was delicious and refreshing.

The food is amazing and test delicious, true authentic Indian food.I had chicken briyani and garlic naan. This place will be my new favorite.

The food and the service were both top notch! The owner is so pleasant, full of information, and willing to share it. The food was amazing! We tried Panu Puri for the first time, and it was so delicious. The Samosa Chat though, is a must get! I dreamed about the samosa chat. The goat Masada and chicken biryani are awesome too. Eat here, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

The food was flavorful and in good portions. Our server was very friendly and enthusiastic. This time we did have the samosa chaat, which was sold out the last time, and jalebi, which made my mom happy. This is now her favorite Indian restaurant on the Peninsula. She says it’s like home cooking (She is from India.) The kitchen is expanding so that more dishes can be offered.

I traveled 1.5 hours to find Indian food! I have a certain dish I like and he suggested the special of the day and actually gave me my fav dish even though it wasn’t the special of the day! Sweetheart! The only thing that wasn’t up to par was the naan bread was a tad dry and overbaked, but he assured me next time I’d have better. He did offer my tea ahead of time, and brought it out long after my meal, but it was all good because I ate alot so I took it to go!
He’s new at this business and it’s his dream he shared with me so he will accommodate his customers well!
I’ll drive that far again for amazing service, food and friendliness any day!

We stumble onto this place and walk to our car. Now I love some good, authentic halal food. They sure enough did not disappoint on the rice and Naan garlic bread. Lawd, you get enough for a family to add to your meal. We didn’t get a full meal since I was already cooking meat. However, I am planning to return for a lamb meal as well; for the rice on days, I want a side with the Naan b, read.

First time at Desi Kitchen.
It’s a new place, only a few months old in Newport News and I wanted to give it a try since I’ve been craving Tikka Masala.
First Impression:
The dining area was super clean and the staff was so polite!
I found this place by taking advantage of the “Yelp757 Deal” going on this month (November) that gets u a meal for $7.57 at participating local restaurants.
The meal at Desi Kitchen comes w rice and your choice of sauce, 2 samosas, naan and a drink.
Let me say, The food was AMAZING!
The ingredients were fresh and everything was made to order. I almost forgot to take a photo! LOL
It’s in the same shopping center as the IHOP on Jefferson Ave, if you’re familiar with the area, so, pretty easy to find.
I’ll go ahead and say not only was the food good… I’ll rival it as some of the best Indian/Pakistani food I have had in the area!
I would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning.
