Stop by here to try their lunch out. They have a really affordable lunch menu. There are different specials for each day of the week. I really enjoyed their lunch plate. It was kind of old-school Mexican food that I love. I wish it was closer to me as I would go there more often. I will definitely stop back by the the next time I’m in the area.

Very delicious food and great service. They even had a DJ playing music.

Ordered the machacado to try it out. I can’t comment on the quality because I have never tried it before . The guacamole was fresh, the tortilla chips seemed freshly made and the salsa was incredible as well. Service was not good or bad, just average. If you order tacos with eggs in the afternoon you will have to order three or more. That’s fair so no complaint here. Price is fair. On keto so I can’t eat anything good like tortillas til next week. My girlfriend liked the food though. Coffee is smooth and excellent. Nice Mexican music playing while you eat as well. We ordered some take out to go after eating here and it did take a very long time so I deduct one star for that

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years and started off at the little York location as my first visit as a child. When I moved to humble as a teen I frequented the location here in Atascocita. When the mom and son ran this location the food and especially the salsa was so good and the service was great. Now, the service is sub par and the horrible waitresses who didn’t serve you well if you didn’t speak Spanish at the other location are now at this location with the same attitude. I drove from spring where I live, to Atascocita because I was craving their salsa. The guy at the front convinced me to buy the 32 oz and it took him a while to bring it out which I thought was odd since the restaurant had only two customers. (Please review the videos) ….the salsa was 50% water, and had no smell or taste to it. I called to let them know I was dissatisfied and they said I could bring it back. Mind you I live 35-40 minutes away and had my sons track meet that day so I told them I would be back the next day to return it for a fresh one. I returned today and spoke with the manager(son of the owners I’m told) and before saying he would fix it or apologize he wanted to let me know how salsa is made and that it’s boiled down with water. Then says but if I’m dissatisfied he would replace it. He offered nothing for my trouble of driving back and forth or the low quality of the product but he did bring me out more salsa and chips after another longer than normal wait. (Especially for just getting salsa…)and the result is the salsa is still watery and flavorless. Or tasted like watered down tomato. so either they tried to cut my salsa with water twice to be cheap or their salsa has severely been downgraded to tomato water. I paid $10.32 and drove 40 min there and 40 min back twice for this. Ultimately I’m sad because I used to love their salsa and the love and good customer service the mom and son gave when running this restaurant.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Jalapeño Mexican Cafe, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the fajita beef street tacos. They were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. The portion size was generous enough to leave me feeling fully satisfied, which is always a plus.

The accompanying rice and chips were decent, although not the standout items on the menu. However, my fiancé ordered the chimichanga and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The beef in both dishes had an amazing flavor that truly elevated the overall taste. If you’re a fan of street tacos, I highly recommend visiting El Jalapeño Mexican Cafe for an unforgettable dining experience. Their flavorful beef and portion sizes will surely leave you craving for more.

This was our first visit to El Jalapeno restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted by a sweet lady who made us feel very welcome. Our server was helpful in describing the meals that I was trying to decide between. I love that she let me know that the steak was not chewy and tough without me even having to ask her. She was right by the way the meat was very tender, flavored well, and delicious. We enjoyed our lunch and we’ll definitely be back. I ordered the lunch steak fajitas I think it was called something similar. The salsa is warm and had a bit of a kick to it. I wasn’t crazy about it but that’s only because I prefer salsa that isn’t warm in temperature. It did have a really good flavor to it though. This place is definitely worth checking out.

I love this place. It’s affordable and the drinks are great! Victoria is my favorite server. She is super nice and friendly. If you go during lunch Mon-Wed and get an appetizer and drink, your tab could be about $16. That’s not a bad deal at all!

The T-bone steak was a flat-ironed steak as you could see in the pictures. Not what I was expecting. The menudo was exactly what it’s supposed to be! The menudo is . The pollo loco chicken was nasty. Really not edible to be honest. The sauce isn’t golden brown. It’s brown. Dark brown. As visualized in the video at the very end. The charros beans was very mediocre or somewhat inedible. The server was okay considering it’s not her fault the chicken and steak was unremarkable. We know the difference between food that is boiled, fried, and baked. Our chicken was neither. It taste like they boiled it “ then tried to microwave it” then covered it in un-flavored Lucas. Froze it again. Overnight 2 days. Then 2 days later placed it in the oven. Then put grease on a skillet and drop the oven frozen baked chicken on a hot grease sizzzled pan then you get that chicken. Yea it was nasty . What irked my nerves is that they agreed the chicken doesn’t look like the picture. We’re saying it doesn’t taste like chicken. Anyhoo. Get you some menudo to go. Or get you some menudo at the bar. Or eat some in the car. That’s it for me.
