Ma’s Kitchen Dim Sum & Noodles is hands down some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in years — and that’s saying a lot.

The Pepper Steak was phenomenal. The beef was incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with bold, savory flavor. The peppers and onions were fresh with just the right amount of crunch, and the sauce was rich without being overly heavy. Every bite tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

The dumplings? Next level. Soft, perfectly steamed, and full of juicy, flavorful filling. You can tell they’re made with care — not rushed, not greasy, just authentic and delicious. They were the perfect complement to the entrée.

Beyond the food, the service was friendly and welcoming, and even the to-go presentation was adorable and well done. It’s rare to find a spot that nails flavor, quality, and experience all at once — but Ma’s Kitchen absolutely delivers.

Went to try out the newly opened Ma’s Kitchen Dim Sum & Noodles on Colfax. The restaurant was in an old building, not far from the hospitals and high school in this area. There’s a shared parking lot with a few other restaurants nearby. While the spots aren’t plentiful, it’s better than nothing, and street parking was readily available nearby. The restaurant featured a red color scheme—walls and chairs are all red, giving it a distinctly Chinese feel. Ordered the braised beef noodle soup, clay pot eggplant, and Singaporean butter prawns, Xiao Long Bao, coconut buns, braised pork ribs, shu mai, shrimp and spinach dumplings, wood ear mushroom salad, dim sum combination with shrimp dumplings, shu mai, steamed pork buns, pork and mushroom dumplings, and veggie egg rolls, coconut milk pudding and osmanthus coconut jelly. The beef noodle soup had a clear and light colored broth and the beef was tender and juicy. Xiao Long Bao was filled with broth and unami filling, and the skin was thin and chewy. The eggplant carried the aromatic rich taste of clay pot cooking; the butter prawns featured large prawns coated in egg batter and were crispy from head to tail. The pork ribs were quite eye-catching and a flavor reminiscent of honey-glazed ribs. Heard all dim sum items were handmade, on par with other dim sum places in town. Both the coconut pudding and osmanthus coconut jelly were smooth, lightly sweet, and refreshing. Overall, the dishes were quite authentic and tasty, presentation was appealing and service was prompt and courteous. Recommended.

Even though I miss the previous restaurant at this location, I am more than happy Ma’s Kitchen is here now! It is cozy, casual and comforting the moment you walk in. We wanted to try everything on the menu!

The seaweed salad, wood ear mushroom salad and chilled bitter melon were great starters. Especially the wood ear mushroom salad, I could have eaten all of it. Although the bitter melon was bitter, the sweet syrup that comes with it really helps cuts the bitterness and we enjoyed the new experience.

The spicy xo xiao long buns (soup dumplings), vegetable, and shrimp, pork and scallop dumplings were delicious. The signature steamed pork buns, BBQ buns, and vegetable buns were fresh, soft, and much bigger than we expected. The fried sesame balls are classic and always a sweet treat.

Service was so friendly and really quick and attentive. Prices are fair for the quality, making it a great option for a casual meal when you are craving dumplings or classic dim sum without heading to a larger, more traditional spot.

We will be back for more!

There are a few standout items and the rest were very mediocre. The daikon radish cakes are delicious. They come deep fried and have great flavor. The eggplant is also very good.

Everything else we had was distinctly meh. The butter prawns were deep fried but not enough to make the shells easy to eat. Tough shells and moderate flavor. The soup dumplings were nothing of note. The twice cooked pork was thin pieces of stir fried bacon.

I don’t think this place is worth the wait or the price overall.

Chili oil wonton was good but it wasn’t hot or warm when it was brought to the table. Stir fried green beans was excellent definitely recommend it. Soup dumplings were good but the wrappers were too thick for me. Combination dumplings were ok. The place was busy but we didn’t have to wait for the food which was a plus

Ma’s Kitchen Dim Sum & Noodles = all hype, no flavor. Started with the wood ear mushroom salad. Simple flavor, delightful texture. Great start to the meal. From here, it went down hill. The beef stir-fried noodles with chili pepper were completely flavorless. Trader Joe’s makes a better stir fry. The Spicy XO Xiao Long dumplings were average at best. Not bad but also not great. We were still hungry so we got an order of the BBQ Buns. All bao and the pork was minimally sauced. Service was great, but the flavor of almost all the dishes were lacking. If you walk away from this place and say out loud “Whoa, that was great!”, I’d be surprised. Good Chinese exists, this ain’t it.

Ma’s Kitchen Dim Sum & Noodles is a standout addition to Denver’s food scene. I went on a weekday evening and the line out the door was proof that this place is already a hit.

Highlights include the Xiao Long Bao, Garlic Spare Ribs, Spicy Wontons in Chili Oil, Beef Short Ribs in Black Pepper Sauce, BBQ Buns, and Beef Stir-Fried Noodles with Chili Pepper. Every dish I tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying.

This spot is perfect for dim sum lovers or anyone looking for bold, delicious flavors. Highly recommend checking it out!

I had such an amazing time dining here! I was so lucky to see the chefs wrapping dumplings right in front of me — they were so beautiful and delicate, like little pieces of art!

Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious. The spicy dishes had just the right kick, and the soup dumplings were bursting with rich, savory flavor — definitely some of the best I’ve ever had. The clay pot eggplant was especially incredible — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and truly unforgettable. Everyone should try it!

I ordered quite a few dishes, and every single one was so tasty. And that coconut pudding — oh my goodness, it was not only delicious but also super cute!

This place is a gem. Great food, beautiful presentation, and such a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

My top orders would be the eggplant clay pot, wood ear mushroom salad, and the dumplings. I have pretty high standards for dim sum, but these would be good enough if I was really craving it. I think I would rather explore the noodle dishes and entrees rather than the dim sum. They were able to accommodate our large table of 10. For 1 month of opening, I thought it was well staffed and super friendly and efficient. I’d definitely come back again to explore other dishes. It’s a bit expensive for just dim sum, but we’re a bit starved of good Chinese food in Denver.
