This place is a true hidden gem. I’ve been trying to find quality Mexican food since we moved here and nothing has hit like this place. The food is incredible, the server staff is courteous, the chef is magnificent, and the food is incredible. Get there and enjoy the food. All of it.

My newest favorite discovery on Nolensville Road – Laura’s Cocina! 5️⃣⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’d seen a few posts about it here and my husband and I were in the area, so we decided to check them out. We were blown away by food – taste, quality and quantity all top notch! Service was great too – we had a sweet waitress, Ashley, who was very attentive, and served us quickly and efficiently.

Ashley quickly brought hot chips and fresh salsa to get started with. They alone were so good! We’d heard Laura’s dip was a must, so we asked about it and it has queso, bean dip and ground beef. There was also chorizo dip, and my husband loves chorizo, so we asked for Laura’s dip only with chorizo instead of ground beef. It was fabulous!

For entrees my husband got Laura’s Fajitas and I got Quesabirrias. OMG! They came out steaming and sizzling, and the quantities were HUGE! We had plenty of leftovers so will enjoy for lunch the next couple of days. We ended with the flan, a nice sweet ending to this wonderful meal.

While we were gorging on all the food, the owner Juan came by and spoke to us for awhile. He and his wife Jesse own and run the place. He’s of Mexican descent, and his wife is from Honduras I believe, so the menu has both Mexican and Central American cuisine. It’s a very extensive menu and most everything is made from scratch with very fresh ingredients. We can’t wait to go back to work our way through the menu. As far as alcohol, right now it’s only beer, although Juan said they should be getting their full alcohol license soon so then we can get margaritas- yay!

This place is a MUST GO!!!

This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had… and I lived in San Diego for years. Everything was made fresh. The guac and salsa alone are worth a trip. The corn tortillas were light and fluffy. The barbacoa was my favorite taco, but the al pastor and carnitas were both great as well. And the servers were welcoming and attentive. Everyone here clearly cares about the quality of the food served and the enjoyment of their guests. We can’t wait to go back!

Eh is the best I can say. They use American cheese in their enchiladas and Chile rellanos. That in itself is a huge deal breaker for me. I had such high hopes too, and the salsa was very strange – I was raised on Mexican food and unfortunately this one didn’t make the grade.

Sopes, sopes, sopes! Fresh ingredients and great flavor in all their dishes, but the sopes are the standout for me. Perfect balance of beans, meat, and veggies. Make sure to ask for the green chile sauce—it’s deliciously spicy and worth it! Note: around 7 PM they start karaoke, which is a fun activity if you don’t mind the loud music.

The food here is SO fresh, and I love the Taco Tuesday deals. Some of the best salsa in town.

Drink specials on weeknights.

Stop in and see their beautiful new table decor and experience their service with a smile. It’s obvious they care.

* Can be hard to spot the building if you’re approaching from the North – it’s a yellow building between Mateo’s and Collision.*

I visited Laura’s Cocina after seeing the high ratings on Google, but my experience was somewhat mixed. I ordered the beef tripe soup and Laura’s burrito, expecting a Mexican meal. However, I later realized that this is actually a Honduran restaurant, which might explain why the dishes I chose didn’t fully meet my expectations. The beef tripe soup was decent, with a flavorful broth that was similar to other spots I’ve tried in the area. The burrito, on the other hand, was a letdown. The steak was unseasoned, and the combination of lettuce and raw onions didn’t work for me. I now realize that I should have ordered Honduran specialties like baleadas or pollo con tajadas. For now, I’ll give it 3 stars, but I plan to return and try the dishes that they are known for, which might change my opinion.

First time here. Really loved the Carne Asada. Fresh corn tortillas were excellent. Nice music playing and soccer on TV. Felt like I was across the border. Recommend this place.

Great little find. Quiet and clean. Complimentary chips and homemade salsa were great. My only critique is the sopas needed a sauce. They are hearty, but lacked flavor. A sauce would’ve made a great difference.
