Got a regular kimchi stew with shrimp added and split it with a friend, we both got charged $5 for 5 pieces of shrimp. We were told that for extra shrimp was $2 at most so we were confused. Pretty unfair in my opinion, stews with meat like beef and pork wouldn’t have costed this much. + the shrimp isn’t some extraordinary jumbo shrimp… just ur regular kind.

I visited this restaurant with a friend and we ordered the tofu teriyaki with soup, as well as the bibimbap combo with beef soup. The service was impressively quick, with our food arriving within 10 minutes. The beef soup was served extremely hot.
Each main dish came with a bowl of rice. The beef I had with the bibimbap was fresh and delicious. We received a generous assortment of sides, including kimchi, fish cake, potato, seaweed salad, horseradish, and pasta. The teriyaki tofu was sweet, simple and well made. The soup was simple and mildly flavored, but it complemented the rice well. Overall, it was a great experience; the restaurant was clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. Will visit again.

The beef tofu soup had barely any beef in it—just a few small pieces. For the price they charge, this is very disappointing.

Tofu house is the best Korean restaurant you can find in U district area. I have been here more than 10 times and the food is always of good quality and taste. I recommend their tofu soup and bbq pork. The picture is the beef bulgogi with side dishes and rice.

My friend and I came in for a quick lunch and the food was super great and delicious. We got the beef bulgogi combo for two people and the price was reasonable for students like us. The restaurant is a little bit small, but clean and well-decorated with Korean cuisine pictures. The staff was fine, attentive and hospitable to customers. Overall, I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant to anyone

Great Korean spot on the Ave! Prices were reasonable and side dishes were great. Felt like authentic Korean food. However, the bulgogi sizzling plate combo that we ordered was simply warm, and not hot enough. Also, the customer service was sub par, servers seemed annoyed, in a rush, and dishes took forever to come out. We weren’t even served our side dishes until the main dishes were served.

Ordered 짜장면 ( Jjajangmyeon ) for take out. And it was amazing, compared to other locations in which I’ve had this dish. Onions, Vegetables and Meat were well portioned; not overwhelming. The fried egg was a highlight since not everyone includes it. (Sides included: Kimchi, Fish Cake, Pickled Radish, Spicy Cucumber salad, Braised Potatoes, and the Macaroni salad ).
5 stars for this dish.
Unfortunately the two stars are a result of the dreadful customer service experience. It was a Friday night and I had not ate all day so instinctively being a Korean Enthusiast decided to stop by here. I approached the cashier and made my order in Korean “짜장면 주세요” to which he responded “What!?”. Then I responded “짜장면”. He said “What AbOUT iT!?” Clearly seemed annoyed so I proceeded to order in English thinking maybe I mistaken him for someone who can speak the language. He then goes into the back room and starts talking to the cook in Korean. My friend and I were in shock. (She had asked “Did he really just pretend not to know Korean?”) It felt like a personal attack until I watched how he had interacted with other customers. You are sure to leave having received attitude instead of a Thank You.
While waiting for my order I decided to include a soda. I approached him again and asked what flavors were available. He was staring outside almost zoned out. He asked “wait what?” And repeated myself. There’s no to go cups for the fountain soda…go figure. So I told him it was okay; I would just buy a can of sprite (being the only option) they had in the fridge. Turns out they’re not selling those? Because it’s for an event. I was frustrated, it doesn’t make sense to have that on display if they’re not being sold.

This needs to be corrected, if a worker does not appreciate their job they do not need to be there. To the cashier who assisted me that night: You bring on a bad reputation to the restaurant and the rest of the staff, they do not deserve that. If you go on campus and ask people about this location they will not fail to mention the “rude employee”. That’s really sad to hear.
There’s a lot of Korean restaurants around the area that we can choose from. We really don’t need to bring our service here.
