If you want to dine-in I recommend going off-peak hours. We ordered first and booked a table then came back 15 mins later at around 12:40pm.
We ordered Bò né and Grilled chicken bánh mì add fried egg.
Bò né / Bo ne: 6.5/10
There wasn’t really anything special about it, I was worried that it would be so good that I need to come back often but it was just regular seasoned stir fried beef to me, everyone has different taste preferences and for me this wasn’t what I was looking for. I’m used to Bò Né from Ho Chi Minh city so maybe this is how they make it in Hue, Vietnam?
The salads that same with bò né wasn’t seasoned, it would have been better if it was, at least if some vinegar.
Chicken Bánh mì: 8/10
The chicken banh mi was very flavorful but at the same time a bit to salty that it made it hard for me to taste other things. I hope it will be a bit less salty next time I come back, that way all the ingredients can be harmonize together.
Overall the price is reasonable, the restaurant is set-up more for to-go orders than dine-in because the lack of space.
They also sell some pastries, we bought the pandang coconut one and it tasted good.
We discovered this place based on word of mouth and social media reels but it is a bit over hyped in my own personal opinion.
Bun bo was just okay. Wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t get again.
Banh nam was pretty decent. Would get again but wouldn’t make a trip for them.
Also had the sugar cane drink, also just okay.
Then we tried whatever pastries they had left and those were just okay, as well.
The eggrolls are $1 each, so kind of pricy.
Yummmmmm!!
A little on a less side of meat but with the flavors of the butter and the meaty pate; you’re not even missing it. The veggies are delish.
Cannot wait to come back to try drinks and dishes.
So happy they have a pick up window ! Makes it super quick and easy for me.
Will recommend to friends and family in the area. 5+ stars.
Update: I decided to take my family here because they’re Banh Mi was always on point but not today. Little meat, little sauce and little veggies. Very disappointing.
The Bun Bo Hue was also really good — authentic and flavorful. I believe the owner is from Hue?
However, the Banh Uot was disappointing. It didn’t taste fresh and was very bland.
Service was great — friendly and efficient. We didn’t have to wait long for our food at all.
We would definitely come back for the Banh Mi and to try more Hue dishes!
