Restaurant Yuu is where Japanese omakase meets French cuisine in the most thoughtful and refined way. This was truly a one-of-a-kind dining experience — every course felt intentional, balanced, and beautifully executed.

Chef Yuu is an artist. The precision, creativity, and harmony of flavors were on another level. What made the evening even more special was the unique collaboration with a chef from Edinbane Lodge from the Isle of Skye in Scotland — such a rare and inspired partnership that added depth and character to the experience.

We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary here, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place for such a meaningful night. The atmosphere, the storytelling through food, and the overall care put into the experience made it unforgettable.

A truly exceptional restaurant.

Yuu in Williamsburg delivers an excellent dining experience blending French technique with subtle Japanese influence.

The service was absolutely top-notch: attentive, polished, and perfectly paced. The atmosphere is breezy and calm, with very little noise. Seating is aligned so you’re not distracted by other guests, and facing the open kitchen adds a wonderful sense of theater — it truly feels like part of the experience.

The tasting menu is excellent, with around ten courses that feel thoughtfully curated. The crab and the sweetbread were standouts and among my favorite dishes of the night. The salade de homard was very good, though it mixed quite a few savory elements — it might even benefit from being split into two separate dishes. The grouper was cooked to perfection, as was the pie, with an impressively thin, delicate crust.

We’re not big dessert people, but both desserts were surprisingly great — light, fresh, and well balanced.

I took the wine pairing, which was not my favorite but more from a taste than quality perspective. Pairing is expensive but they serve high-end wines which I was happy to discover.

The meal ends in a separate lounge area, where you relax on a couch with a tisane and mignardises, which I found especially pleasant and thoughtful.

Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. I will definitely be going back.

An unforgettable dining experience in Brooklyn. My husband and I agreed this was one of our favorite meals and we eat out a lot! The tasting menu flows effortlessly from one course to the next, each dish thoughtfully presented and full of subtle surprises. The service is attentive in a way that feels natural, and the atmosphere manages to be elegant while still completely comfortable.

People will rave about the food, and rightfully so, but what truly sets Restaurant Yuu apart is the personal touch. After dinner, we were invited to relax in the lounge for tea and additional desserts, which made the night feel even more special. We were not rushed out like many other restaurants. The chef even stepped outside into the freezing cold just to thank us for coming. That level of care is something you don’t forget.

A perfect balance of Japanese and French sensibility.
Each dish was elegant, thoughtful, and beautifully composed. The wine pairing elevated the experience without overpowering it. I recommend sitting at the counter to fully appreciate the choreography of the kitchen. Definitely going back soon!

An incredible dining experience in Brooklyn. The tasting menu feels like a theatrical performance — beautifully choreographed from start to finish. The French-Japanese fusion dishes are refined, balanced, and full of surprises. Service is attentive, the atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, and the location is very convenient by subway (but parking is nearly impossible). The duck pie is a stunning presentation, though the other dishes impressed me more in flavor. Perfect for a special occasion — they even offer a small cake if noted for a celebration. Would definitely return to try a new menu.

This was the best meal my wife and I have ever had. Every aspect of service was thoughtful and executed perfectly. Our glasses were never less than half full, flatware was changed before every course, and our menu was even personalized to wish us a happy anniversary. Each course was a perfectly balanced combination of flavors that delighted the palate. Having a front row seat to all of the hard work and artistry behind each dish was a delight. I can not recommend Restaurant Yuu highly enough.

Visited the Wine & Sake Bar and it exceeded expectations.
I came to try their new bar service and ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon. It was rich, balanced, and deeply satisfying. Other dishes were exceptional as well. The à la carte menu seems like the chef’s selection of the day, which makes every visit feel unique. I’m already thinking this could become a new after-work ritual…

What a great experience where every dish is a thought provoker, in a good way! Came here for a special event and the chef in charge was new for the week (worked here but not normally the head chef). I loved the menu he put together and the story about each dish. The staff really put in the effort to ensure you understood what you were eating and the story behind it. The interior was beautiful and they even gave us a little surprise to take home. It was a special evening that I don’t think I’ll ever forgot. Also, don’t sleep on their sake bottle options. We shared a bottle of sparkling sake which was delicious and surprisingly went well with all the dishes. Definitely make a reservation beforehand!

Every moment felt considered.
The space is calm and beautifully designed, and every dish was exceptional. There’s a sense of quiet luxury throughout, from the ambiance to the pacing. We reserved the 8:30 seating after work, and it turned an ordinary weekday into something unforgettable!
