This one is hard to write because the night started off great. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff were wonderful, the drinks were on point, and the owner was a delight. They also have a solid bourbon selection.
We understand they were out of fish for the Friday night fish fry. It happens. I ended up ordering soup, and my husband had the pork schnitzel with spaetzle. The schnitzel was good, but the spaetzle was very disappointing and reminded us of overcooked, tasteless noodles.
We were seated around 7 and waited about an hour for our food. Although they didn’t close until 9, staff began loudly sweeping and cleaning while my husband was still eating, which made us feel rushed and put a damper on the end of the evening.
There’s a lot to like here, but the ending didn’t match how well the night began.

Party of eight, celebrating two Birthdays. Nice menu with reasonable prices. Service was a little slow but very nice. Waited a long time for bread and beverages. ( approx 15 min) 1 out of 3 steaks was very tough and stringy but good flavor. Steak strogenoff had very little protien! Tuna steak was amazing. Childern were served last, about 10 min after first entrees.. They did bring out crayons and stickers for them.
Our chairs needed to be recushioned, we we sitting on the wood bars, very uncomfortable.

Moonlight Tavern is a Port Washington treasure. Everything from the food, the drinks and the service is always top tier. Not only that, but you also feel welcomed and home the moment you walk into the door.
Dishes I suggest: 1. The filet mignon. Chef Mate knows exactly how to cook a steak. 2. Blackened Ahi Tuna. I could drink the sauce they serve it with. 3. Shrimp Piccata. The shrimp are huge and the lemon caper sauce is decadent.
Drinks I suggest: 1. The smoked maple old fashioned. Just the right amount of smokiness. 2. Mint chip espresso martini, because…. duh. 3. The Kono Sauv Blanc. Crispiest glass of wine you’ll ever have.
Side note: They also have a wonderful weekly fish fry on Friday’s!

First time in Port Washington and couldn’t have asked for a better first stop than Moonlight Tavern Supper Club. Jamie was so kind and welcoming, gave great local tips, and made us feel right at home. Amazing food and genuinely great vibes all around.

What a gem! Located in downtown area of Port Washington this supper club has a varied and delicious menu. My favorites? Any special they are running. I prefer to go off the menu and take the chef’s specialty of the day. Amazing food! Or stop in for just for a bourbon, martini or wine! Great atmosphere and friendly staff!

Glad we found this gem! Such a wonderful experience for dinner on a Saturday. Everyone was so friendly from checking in to leaving the restaurant. Our server Amelia went above and beyond, especially while trying to enjoy dinner with our little guy. Prime rib is a must! One of the best we’ve ever had, as well as the twice baked potato! Will definitely be back!!

Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. The atmosphere was nice and reminded me of the old Port Hotel days. Jennifer M. was our server and she was fantastic. We were seated right away and we were given some fantastic focaccia bread. We ordered the wedge salad for starters and it was very good. I ordered the filet sandwich with fries. The filet was so good and the fries were probably the best fries I have had. They were thin with a perfect amount of sea salt. Even the pickle spear was better than most restaurants. We shared a piece of tiramisu which was huge and very tasty. Prices were reasonable and they have a rewards program. Would absolutely recommend.

We had the best time here, celebrating a milestone birthday with our family (made a reservation). We had two small children with us and they made them feel so welcome, had a great kids menu and even special treasure chest with prizes for them 🙂 The cocktails and the food was delicious with excellent service and a cozy supper club atmosphere! I highly recommend visiting this fantastic restaurant!
