My mom and I visited this place for lunch since we live in town and this place is definitely a must go. Our server Nikki was very kind and attentive. The decorations give a cozy feel, the food was super tasty, and the portions are huge! We were only able to eat half of our meals before we were full but I think this place is super ideal for people who are not able to eat 3 meals a day due to travel, etc. The prices are very reasonable; you can get a huge freshly cooked meal for the price of a mcdonalds meal (for reference we got 2 meals with an extra side and 2 desserts for only $55). We will for sure be returning. 5 stars!!!

Stopped here for the 1st time on a Thursday night. Walking up to the entrance you can see the black bear design and it was very cute. Inside matched the outside. The restaurant was very clean and quiet. We were seated quickly. There is a dessert case when you walk in and are waiting to be seated. Everything looked so good! Your menu looks like a newspaper and I thought that was a neat touch. The cheddar bacon potato soup with a corn muffin was delicious. We also got a burger and fries which was great. The country fried steak was good as well, though I feel it could have been cooked a little longer (breading wise). The onion rings were tasty too. Unfortunately we did not have room for dessert but would love to try the bread pudding next time. The servers were friendly and quick to clean the empty tables. As well as going around and restocking the tables with condiments. The only issue was waiting for a drink refill. We definitely will stop again and give a few more things a try including the dessert.

Pancakes you should eat with a spoon?
I’ve been thinking about pancakes all week. And black bear diner has some fairly decent sweet cream pancakes. The only thing I don’t like about them is they seem to crumble after you touch them with a fork. Seriously I’ve never seen that happen with a Pancake. From anywhere else.
I also had over medium eggs that were undercooked. Their version of hash browns. Sausage, bacon and ham.
The service here is great. The restaurant is clean. I just wish the food measured up.
There’s an IHOP across the street, but their pancakes are horrible.

Don’t let the newspaper fool ya! It’s the menu, lol. I got the smaller volcano from the “little less breakfast” section of the menu. If you like thick pancakes you’ll love these. They have plenty of desserts and the iced coffee almost had me, next time!

The food was awesome, Jodi was so amazing she was kind and very patient while we took a while to decide what we wanted to eat. We were a party 6 and there was a little wait for food but completely worth the wait, which was NOT long, we were seated immediately. We have been to other black bear dinners before, and very time we have a good experience. We can not say enough about black bear and their amazing staff.

Such a cool place. First place I’ve ever gone to where everyone in the place was super nice, talks to you. The service was outstanding, such a awesome time. Especially the girl at the front counter I believe her name was Ev. She went above and beyond. You need to check this place out! Great prices, big portions and very tasty food.

Today was the third time going to Black Bear Diner. I have waited to write a review since nothing has been outstanding so far and wanted to give them a good chance with just opening.
The first time we had lunch meals and it was pretty good. The burger was very good and the chicken fried steak was good. Fries were okay, nothing special. The salad had brown pieces that I had to remove before eating. Although their homemade ranch dressing was good. The next two visits were for breakfast. Both times we had the big bear breakfast, eggs your way, choice of a meat, and pancakes, waffles, French toast, or biscuits and gravy(or extra charge for cinnamon roll French toast). Both times the scrambled eggs didn’t seem cooked all the way, even when ordered well done. When I cut into them they were all wet on the inside. Only one piece out of the two pieces of bacon was extra crispy both times. The pancakes and French toast were good during the first breakfast visit. On the second breakfast visit there we were waiting a very long time for our food. The waitress came out and informed us that “they” just told her that they were out of the cinnamon roll French toast so we went with the biscuits and gravy. After waiting quite a while longer still our food finally came out. Both of our eggs were cold, the bacon was cold and the regular French toast was cold. We can only think that our food sat there until she came back and told them to do biscuits and gravy instead of the cinnamon roll French toast and nothing was remade. No one came back and asked how it was, just said they were dropping the checks off because she had to get them out. When we went to pay no one asked how everything was. I wanted to like it there because everything sounds and looks good but I am not impressed at all. I have read reviews of people enjoying it but how can it be all three times that we were there things were not right.
