Tucked on Whittier Blvd in a sunny strip mall, **Aloha Stacks** is the Hawaiian-inspired breakfast spot that transports you straight to the islands without leaving the SGV . The vibe is pure aloha: colorful murals of surfboards and palm trees, ukulele tunes playing softly, and a bustling counter where the aroma of fresh griddled batter fills the air. It’s casual, family-friendly, and always packed with locals craving that tropical twist on brunch classics.
The **pineapple pancakes** are absolute showstoppers—fluffy buttermilk stacks infused with sweet-tangy pineapple chunks, topped with macadamia nuts, coconut flakes, and a drizzle of passion fruit syrup. Each bite is a harmonious explosion of flavors: light and airy cakes with caramelized edges, juicy fruit bursts, and just the right nutty crunch. They’re generous portions (three huge pancakes) that feel indulgent yet fresh, and pairing them with Kona coffee elevates the whole experience to paradise level. No wonder they’re the menu highlight!
Service is friendly and efficient—staff sling plates with smiles and keep coffee refills coming, even when busy. The convenient location has plenty of plaza parking, making it an easy stop after errands or before a hike in the Puente Hills.
Only docking 0.3 because the **loco moco** disappointed—rice was fine, but the gravy lacked depth, and the hamburger patty felt a tad dry compared to Hawaiian standards. Also, **the line** can snake out the door on weekends (plan for 20-30 minutes)—worth it for the pancakes, but pack patience or come early.
Still, Aloha Stacks earns a strong 4.7 for those unbeatable pineapple pancakes and overall island charm. It’s become my Whittier brunch staple—I’ll brave the wait every time. Mahalo for the vibes!
But the food was the star of the show, once again!
This time, we ordered pork eggs Benedict, meatloaf loco moko, and split a short stack of fabulous ubi pancakes!
The ubi pancakes, split between two of us, were heavenly, perfectly fluffy and moist.
The eggs were properly cooked, the flavor in the meats was outstanding, and the potatoes were tasty, hot, and beautifully seasoned.
The price point is great for the quality and portion sizes, here. I look forward to visiting Aloha Stacks again!
The service is always great & food is always FRESH!
My sons love their waffles, they are perfectly made.
The chilaquiles are delicious too.
