Goodland BBQ in Santa Barbara is a must-try spot for genuine, smokey flavor. We ordered togo to eat in our hotel, and the entire meal traveled perfectly, keeping the BBQ hot and ready. The BBQ itself was great—tender, perfectly smoked meat that stands up to any pit master’s best.
A special shoutout goes to one of the side dishes: the muffins. They looked dry initially but were surprisingly moist and delicious!
If you’re planning to dine in, there are plenty of seating available, making it a good spot for groups or families.
However, a major tip for future visitors is to order early because they run out of choices quickly, especially popular items.
A rare treat, ordering “once in a blue moon” Coke in a classic glass bottle!
Overall, Goodland offers top-tier BBQ experience that we highly recommend.

Passing by on the way home to Murrieta. Found this gem on maps and it did NOT disappoint. It was a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t busy so service was fast and the food was hot! As we waited my daughter and I played table air hockey provided by the restaurant. Thank you for the great service and delicious food.
Don’t forget to ask for honey for the sweet potato fries. Yum.

Exactly what Goleta needed a delicious BBQ restaurant for everyone! First time was tonight I tried the tri-tip the brisket and the chicken, the coleslaw the potato salad and the absolutely amazing beans.
I love this place!
Here it is a whole bunch of months later and I’m kind of a regular and I love this place with all my belly! The staff is fabulous and the food keeps getting better, and I don’t know how that’s even possible. And the beans alone are just a reason to come here.

I got a one meat plate with brisket, potato salad, and coleslaw. Brisket was nice, tender, and even further elevated by their tangy barbecue sauce. Potato salad’s a classic, super hard to get that wrong and Goodland’s is no exception. However, the coleslaw had an off-putting bitter aftertaste; I did not finish it. However, I paid $19 after taxes for just this meal. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t really eat barbecue too often or the “Santa Barbara tax”, but that seems a bit steep. Good meat, bad coleslaw, kinda pricey, decent overall.

They’ve only been opened for 6 days and are already killing it! Meat was so tender and well cooked! Was excited for pork ribs but it was sold out. The bbq sauce was a little too sweet for my personal liking but still was good with the meat. Pork sausage had a delicious smokey flavor and meat wasn’t dry at all which I loved!!

Great BBQ! This place is awesome, great staff. We had a big party and everyone loved what they got. The perfectly spiced pork ribs, the tender tri tip and the mouth watering juicy chicken were all exceptional! The sides were just as yummy, the chili beans tasted home made and the macaroni salad was great too! We will be back for sure!

Was a little hesitant after seeing the reviews. Went in and the service was great, food was plentiful and good flavor. The garlic bread imo was perfectly seasoned but some may say it’s salty. We had brisket, ribs and sweat potatoe/regular fries. I like my ribs dry with ability to wet them. The brisket had good flavor and for once I said I’d wish I’d ordered all brisket!!! The restaurant was clean and tidy. It is not a new building but comfortable feel. We are from Arkansas and struggle to find home style foods even back home!! Thank you for the great meal.

I had the chicken plate. The chicken was well smoked but somehow bland at the same time. The beans were full of everything (meat, onions, etc.) except flavor.
Her brisket was bland, too. Potato salad? Bland. Coleslaw? Bland. Cornbread? Bland and a bit stale. The garlic bread was greasy but did have a little flavor.
It was on the pricey side, even for the area. Staff was friendly enough, especially considering how busy they were.

I really debated on the stars. I would’ve done three stars but I think that there is potential so feel comfortable with four.
The prices were very reasonable and in line. That is refreshing these days!

I am a huge coleslaw fan and this was flat; just some salt or something to give it any kind of spark or flavor is needed. The potato salad was equally boring.
Everybody working there seemed really nice. I don’t mind plain furnishings. The news playing in the main dining room was a bit of a bummer on a Saturday at lunchtime.
As I said at the top of the review, I think it has potential with just a few tweaks. Ramp up the flavors a little bit and make it a bit more welcoming.

Ordered pick-up. The lady was so sweet and helpful! I ordered the 3 meat plate; hot link, brisket and pork belly! Everything was so good. Their Mac and cheese is fireeeeeee (meaning incredibly good) and i usually don’t even like Mac and cheese from restaurants because I’m super particular. My husband said the burger was good too.
