Food was top notch and the service was quick with a group of 10, everything came out at the same time and within 20 minutes of ordering with only one server. It got too crowded and which was fine but make sure you go before the hour before it closes. They were kind with portions. Sooo many options to choose from for drinks and amazing variety of dishes. For college students and groups I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for people who like fast but amazing service. Plus you get to keep the cup if you order a drink. Great place for brunch or casual lunch.

Blooming Thai is great. The space is bright, cozy, and adorable—one of those spots where you instantly feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The staff was kind and genuinely attentive, which made the whole experience even better.
I ordered the strawberry milk tea and it was absolutely delicious—sweet, creamy, and refreshing. For food, we tried the Pho Beef and the Chicken Pad See U. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying, with portions that felt generous without being overwhelming.
Overall, it’s the kind of place you want to linger a little longer in, whether for a casual meal or just to relax with a drink. The photo wall is a nice touch. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Great spot for dinner. Big portions and delicious. We got the pad Thai and the drunken noodle. And we got some appetizers the naked tiger and Thai dumplings. Everything was just so good. And it’s a ton of food and the prices are good

“The food here is just as tasty as in Thailand! I ordered Isaan sausage, Hainanese chicken rice, and of course bubble tea. Everything was so good — I’d recommend ordering the same, you definitely won’t regret it!”

Really liked it! I really chose this place for dinner because I wanted bubble tea, and the bubble tea was good but the food was the highlight. The menu is very vegetarian-friendly since you can choose tofu as a protein for most entrees, and even vegan-friendly since they have nondairy milk options for drinks and some entrees can be easily customized to be vegan (order with tofu/no meat and remove egg). I got a matcha latte with brown sugar crystal boba and the Pattaya pineapple rice.
Matcha latte: The matcha was decent – it had the flavour of matcha latte mix rather than pure matcha, but it wasn’t unpleasant, and it was strong. I like the brown sugar crystal boba as a topping – the flavour is very similar to brown sugar tapioca boba, but it doesn’t sit as heavy. It’s a different kind of chewy than tapioca, but it’s close enough that it basically gives the same kind of experience as regular tapioca boba in a drink.
Pattaya pineapple rice: Really good! The rice was well-seasoned and the pieces of juicy pineapple and raisins added some sweetness that contrasted very nicely with the curry-spiced rice. They have 5 spice levels (mild, medium, hot, extra hot, Thai hot). I usually went for medium heat when I lived on the west coast, but since this is the Midwest, I tried “hot” and found it had a bit of a kick, but the heat was still secondary to the other flavours, so it was the right choice for me.
Very good service. The waiter was very friendly and attentive without hovering – he came by at just the right times. My drink and food came out not too long after I ordered.
The place is nice. Like the other restaurants in this area, it’s situated in a small house-like building. The atmosphere feels down-to-earth. No tables for groups bigger than 4, but maybe they would move tables together if you have a bigger group and they have capacity.
As I mentioned, there are lots of things on the menu that interested me, so I will definitely be back!

If you’re looking for extreme heat – the Thai spice level hits the spot. We had the red curry and Thai basil lunch special. Everything came out so fast and was delicious.

This is a MUST STOP in Bloomington. We spent 5 days in town literally JUST to try all of the different international foods. All 3 of us agreed this was one of the best, 2 in fact said it was THE BEST of the entire trip. Beautiful atmosphere. We shared the amazing appetizer platter, enjoyed bubble teas, and then tried their fried rice special, won ton noodle soup, and crispy pork belly. They were indescribably fantastic and perfectly done. The pork belly had an insane broth that made me think of the pork belly as secondary in importance, it was THAT good. The won ton noodle soup is a unique spin on won ton soup with so many additional ingredients.

There was an initial misunderstanding as it relates to customer service. I was called regarding my order and closing time. I already understood closing to be 10pm which is why I chose a specific time for pickup (9:45p). I was called to inform food was ready at about 9:35p and that they were going to be closing. With that being said I was already aware of closing time. I put in the pickup time for 9:45p because I live roughly 25 min away. When I arrived I asked who I had spoken to an unnamed man spoke with me. There was a bit of back and forth due to the earlier phone conversation. It was “resolved” in store but I truly believe it could have been better.
The food was good and the price was good as well. The broth was a bit too sweet , but the portion size was perfect. I ordered the beef pho. I understand rock sugar/sugar is added to pho broth but, it was noticeably sweet, not subtly. Overall it was good though.

Visiting IU and popped in while our son was in an audition on Valentines Day. Food was amazing! Massaman Curry probably best I have ever eaten. Staff attentive and friendly. And as an unexpected bonus, it was decorated for Valentines. Each guest was given candy and roses. We will definitely return to Blooming Thai when we come back to IU in the fall.
