The quality at this store has gone down drastically. We got a menudo today and it smelled really bad, they did not wash it properly and had a horrible taste. The “papa” tacos were actually french fries. The owner has always been very stingy with their items but it’s gotten extremely worse now. Never will go here again, and we’ll make sure all our family in Alton won’t either.

Stopped by as I usually do to pickup breakfast. This Time I decided to dine in. When I left I mistakenly left my wallet. That was 2 days ago and today I went and they immediately greeted me to return it.
I highly recommend their delicious food, exceptional service and above all….HONEST STAFF.
I will continue to visit them weekly and help businesses like this prosper.

This place is the worst. The egg taste as if it were powdered eggs. Tortillas really suck. Corn tortilla is the cheapest. The ones that are bought from grocery store prepackaged so they get super hard. Flower tortillas have a weird aftertaste and are thick. I dont understand how this place is still open and has customers. I totally dont recommend. I suggest you go get yourself a taco from valeros instead. They aren’t great either but they are better than this dump.

We have a big family so we tried a little bit of everything on the menu. The lady taking our order was being very rude and made a mistake in the type of tortilla we wanted. It’s an understandable mistake and we were okay with it but the problem was she didnt fix it and she INSISTED we had ordered the ones we got. We let it go so as to not wait longer. Then we ate and the menudo tasted bland, the caldo de rez was far too salty, the tortillas de harina were hard as if they had been sitting there for a while, the tortillas de maiz were actually pretty good so no complaint there, the huevo was undercooked, and the meat in the caldo was also undercooked. Just in general a place we did not personally enjoy.

It’s delicious here and a great price. My family of 6, including myself, eat here every other weekend and it’s about $20-$25. It all depends if we get dessert.

It’s a Mexican restaurant. You can get breakfast and lunch tacos. The tacos are not very big but they are very full. You can make two tacos out of one. Prices are inexpensive. You can get papas a la mexicana, chorizo, chicharones, carne guisada, mole, picadillo, and so much more. Great place for tacos!
