In the heart of Chinatown. Mom and Pop Vietnamese restaurant. Dont expect anything fancy here with about 10 tables. The food is the star here. Home style, authentic Vietnamese dishes. I tried the Pho. The broth is clear, but full beefy flavor. The spices is not overpowering at all. Generous portions of meats. The rice noodles are cooked perfectly. Herbs and vegetables are fresh. The price is good for the amount of food you get. The service was average though. But I didn’t need much, but my food came out fast and piping hot. But she never came and checked and refill my water.
My experience was great and will go again. Only Four STARS for now until I try more dishes.

Located in Chinatown. Super friendly owners and staff. Very welcoming to our family and kids. The spring rolls came with veggies to wrap and dip with fish sauce. Combo pho had a nice mix of tendon, tripe, brisket, Sliced beef and meatballs. Viet coffee came ready to drink in a cup. The offer fresh soymilk too!

We absolutely love PHO 97! The restaurant is very clean inside, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming.
We ordered the papaya salad, spring rolls, and two amazing noodle soups. One was a crab meat noodle soup with a rich tomato and crab-based broth, full of delicious flavors and special ingredients. The other was their special spicy beef noodle soup, and it was incredible—definitely the best in town!
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic and flavorful Vietnamese food. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Pho 97 is absolutely delicious. I had the guava salad and my wife had the filet pho. It’s a great little gym in Chinatown Honolulu. There is no wait time. Excellent service.

If you are looking for fresh, delicious Vietnamese food in Downtown Honolulu, you have to go here. This is our second visit, and we were delighted that Hannah recognised us from our previous visit – she is a very friendly and attentive server. Our favourite dishes are the Spring Rolls (served with fresh veggies and herbs) and the Green Papaya Salad (with shrimp and chicken and the most delicious dressing sauce). I don’t know when we will be back in Hawaii, but I do know that we will make time to re-visit Pho’97.

Hannah was our waitress, she was surprisingly courteous and caring compared to some of the other Chinese restaurants and Vietnamese restaurants we’ve eaten over the past week.
The food was nice and hot, and had great flavoring, and the vegetables were of ample size and very fresh.
I will certainly come back again.
