I went to here with my mother-in-law, my wife, my daughter, and my son. We ate lunch there on memorial day. I’ve been to the building before to go to the coffee shop there, but I have not eaten at the restaurant. The restaurant and the coffee shop to sit in the building in kind of an odd way. It’s not problematic it just might be confusing to some people. I’ve been there before, but when I walked up a lady who was walking up beside me at the same time, said “it smells like coffee is this the right place?”

The service was pretty good. That day they were short staffed, so they had one of their bus boys not only serving as the hostess, but also functioning as a server. He took our order, he got it, right, and the food didn’t take too long to get to us. I would say that the food was pretty good. A place that says that it’s authentic Mexican food I kind of expect to seem more authentic. This seemed more Tex-Mex style of Mexican food, and there’s nothing really wrong with that. I just expected authentic. Really unique Leigh decorated interior. Be careful if you sit in the area that’s somewhat elevated both my wife and I nearly tripped and we went down the steps.

The food was alright, the portions of the extras to the fajitas were small compared to the actual meal and the server forgot the tortillas, when they arrived 7 minutes after the meal the food was hardly warm. After we finished eating it took 35+ minutes to get our check. We also ordered something to go and they brought it out on a plate. Overall, not a bad restaurant, but it could be better.

Didn’t like it the first time we ate there but we decided to give it a 2nd chance. This time was great. Eric was a wonderful waiter and the carne adovada stacked enchilada was unbelievable!! One of Clovis’ best.

We had a wonderful experience for a very late lunch with Perla as our waitress! She had the best positive attitude, treated us like family, kept our drinks full and saw to it that we had everything we needed! The food was delicious! No grease = no upset stomachs! My husband had a combination plate and I had the Tuesday special a Taco Salad! It was all very very good and they had sweet tea! .

Update 4/14/24
Ok, I had the carne adobada plate, and my wife had the relleno playe. The calabacita was different since it’s mostly roasted but good. The refried beans are ok, but if you add salsa on top, they taste better. The carne was at a perfect spiced medium to hot, but the relleno’s breading outside was burnt. No muy Bueno. Great service, nice atmosphere. Fair prices, so this place is worth a try once, by the way the sopapillas were delicious. The decision is yours to make to try it. If we go there again, I will update it as well.

Test kitchen on main st. Went by for the first time, and the place is clean and comfortable. I ordered two burritos, one carne adovada, the other a combination. The combo was better tasting than the other, but what didn’t appeal to me was the price for each of them. They were too small and overpriced for a testing kitchen. I’m not sure if I would be returning. Maybe.

The place was nice service was bare but why I left such a bad review is the food was terrible the tortillas was store bought tasted like great value is got the carne avovada when they brought it out it was dry looking and looked like had been in warmer for a days I tired it and sure enough was so dry I couldn’t even swallow it I told the server she says ya I told the cooks it looked dry I brought out but they said take it out it will be ok and I didn’t wanna argue REALLY? So she still brings me after that I ordered fajitas tacos they were OK but had way way better my family’s food was all average aswell nothing special I definitely do not recommend this place we were excited to try it and total let down will not be back also server said she let manager know about what happened he never bothered to come by or do anything about it even though we had $100 ticket

A little weird to find, but the Atmosphere was nice and chill. Service was quick, friendly and keep making sure that we had everything we needed. Food was ok, I would definitely come back and try something else.

Nice atnosphere and friendly staff. Food is okay, the chips were stale, out of tea, and the guacamole wasn’t fresh. Outside entry into a corridor to enter the restaurant. Be prepared.

The joy that filled my heart to see Guadalajara reopening is hard to express. I have such wonderful memories of the old Guadalajara, when I was a kid. I would beg to go there every time I visited Clovis.
We were in Clovis for three days this week and I went to Guadalajara for a meal EVERYDAY!! The staff was warm and welcoming and the food was just like I remembered. Delicious homemade salsa and unlimited chips. Ground beef enchiladas with red sauce are my favorite. The guacamole is fresh and without extenders (onions, tomatoes, sour cream, etc). And then there is the grand finale…sopapillas with honey. So yummy! So perfectly hot and fluffy.
Sounds like this test kitchen is just a warm up for a great restaurant next to Big Lots…coming soon! Can’t wait to check it out next time I am in town.
Thanks Mike, Kirsty, secret sopapilla maker in the kitchen and the rest of the staff. We love Guadalajara!!!
