I’m typically really patient when it comes to service, I work in customer service/food industry myself. My partner and I ordered a classic cheeseburger meals with the grilled onions, and a shake.
Our shake was forgotten in the order, even though it was read back to us 6 times and there were no onions on the burgers either. Instead, they were absolutely drenched in the secret sauce that taste like straight mayo to me, leaving the buns incredibly soggy and creating one giant mess.
The burgers also were not cooked very well, I’m not sure if it’s normal for a place to have so much pinkness in the meat, but that would’ve been nice to know so I could’ve asked for it to be cooked more because it genuinely felt undercooked as well.
To top it all off, I couldn’t take more than 2 bites of of the burger without getting extremely sick at the meat and sauce… and ended up dealing with food poisoning for the following 12 hours after that. Same thing happened to my partner.
Fries were also meh, I personally think the grocery store ones are better.
Waste of a trip, waste of $35. Next time I will stick with my original preference of In n Out, which normally adds up to $26 for two double double meals, one single and a shake.
I wanted to like this restaurant more.
The food preparation was slow…very slow.
My basic corn dog was over cooked.
The service counter was dirty.
The menu is generally American hamburgers and hotdogs.
The French fries are soft homemade like type, not crispy.
The order taker was friendly and helpful in selecting menu items.
The outdoor seating area is well designed but not intended for cold nights as it was on my visit.
It was an OK no frills basic restaurant.
Really good burgers and shakes! The secret sauce on the burgers is definitely the star ingredient. I got a side to dip my rings in and they were pretty tasty too. The sauce is just the right balance of sweet and tangy.
The only bad news, is that I work really close by, and I think I’m going to be craving Joe’s during my workday.
Great atmosphere. It’s in Bridgeport village. Joe’s isn’t an inside, sit down restaurant. They have an order and pick up window, and the seating is outdoors, but covered. There’s a fire pit with seating, and some booths and tables that you can hang out at. It’s just across from the movie theater, so it’s easy to find.
