Tried Desi District in Aldie and had mixed, mostly disappointing results. This is about 2 month old restaurant in aldie. The chaat and dosa were decent, and this is clearly where the kitchen shines. The dosa was crisp, sambar was very good, and both the peanut chutney and red chutney were flavorful and well done. Irani chai was enjoyable too, though noticeably too sweet for my taste.
Unfortunately, everything else fell flat. The tandoori chicken was honestly one of the worst I’ve had, dry, poorly seasoned, and not even close to what tandoori should be. The kati roll was equally disappointing and lacked flavor and balance plus chicken was stiff for some reason .
It really feels like this place specializes only in South Indian dishes, and should probably stick to that. I genuinely want to support small businesses, but I can’t recommend this spot with confidence based on this visit.
I may give it another try and update the review after trying mandi or biryani, but for now, I’d say come here only if you’re craving dosa. Overall, a disappointing experience

Worst restaurant to order food. Had bad experience with food last time and left bad review. Food was burned up and pretty spice last time. But got a call and they requested to remove review so considered that time and removed review as I thought one time occurrence.
This time had pretty bad experience. Got hair in roti and had to return food. Pretty bad experience and strongly suggest to not visit as not a kid friendly. Adding photos for reference.

I absolutely loved both the service and the food. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. A special mention to the lovely Rithika at the checkout—she was so sweet, pleasant, and genuinely warm in her approach. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and truly satisfying. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would happily recommend.

Food was amazing!!! I would highly recommend it for a casual fun evening. My favorite was the chicken Mandi, chicken patty and the cauliflower Manchurian. Can’t wait to be back to try their South Indian breakfast that I was told would be starting soon.

We tried a variety of dishes at Desi District, and overall it was a flavorful experience with generous portions and great presentation. The Mandi platter was the highlight — beautifully presented with different styles of chicken pieces arranged over a huge bed of fragrant rice. The rice was mildly spiced, soft, and had a nice smoky touch. The chili chicken had a nice Indo-Chinese flavor with crispy fried pieces coated in a spicy, tangy sauce. Crispy cauliflower tossed in a classic Manchurian sauce. It had the right balance of spice, garlic, and crunch. Apricot delight for dessert is the best thing.

The food at Desi District has been amazing ! The menu beautifully blends fusion and traditional items, reminding me of Indian street food, while also featuring delicacies like the Lamb Shank Mandi. The Chicken Kathi Rolls had authentic flavor, and the Butter Chicken Burger was a fusion delight. The Garlic Shrimp was perfectly seasoned, and the tender Lamb Shank Mandi was a true standout. Don’t miss the Irani Chai. Highly recommend this spot for tasty and fusion dining. Yummy food.

The Mirchi Bajji was fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious. Loved the quality and authenticity. Great place for anyone who enjoys genuine Indian food!

We got Dahi chaat and samosa Chat. It could have been a little more spicy but food overall was great! Lots os parking and the staff is really good! You can assemble your own Dahi chaat which is nice because the chaat doesn’t get soggy.

Absolutely Delicious! Highly Recommended
Tried the chicken pakoda, mutton mandi, and chicken tikka, and everything was outstanding!
The chicken pakoda was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The chicken tikka was incredibly tender, well-marinated, and packed with rich smoky flavors, cooked to perfection. The mutton mandi truly stood out — the meat was soft, flavorful, and fell right off the bone.
