Tang, located in the Upper East Side, offers a unique fusion of Eastern and Western culinary traditions. Our founder envisioned a place where Chinese cuisine is celebrated for its elegance, not just the familiar heavy, oily dishes. We pride ourselves on using premium ingredients, such as filet mignon for our Beef & Broccoli and tiger prawns in our Shrimp Satay. Our culinary journey began with a small eatery near Rockefeller Center, where our seasoned chefs, recruited from China, honed their skills in adapting authentic Chinese flavors to suit the local palate.

The ambiance is very warm & relaxing. The staff is great! It felt like family helping you get everything you need. They kept me and my friends entertained & made sure we loved our food! The food ! Delicious! Desert! Delicious! My friend wanted a customized dessert & they made it happened ! My fave was the crust of the tiger prawn & duck with kimchi fried rice ! I could’ve ate the whole menu if god gave me a gift card lol! Will definitely revisit!

Had a great dinner at Tang by Mr. Sun! We ordered the lychee shrimp balls, oxtail, salt & pepper shrimp, and lobster fried rice — everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The lychee shrimp balls were a standout, and the oxtail was tender and rich.
The staff was friendly and the place has a nice, lively vibe with modern décor. Perfect spot for sharing dishes with friends or family. We’ll definitely be back to try more!

What a pompous overpriced attempt at Chinese find dining. Such small portions, barely enough few bites, plates were clean enough didn’t need the two swaps that broke up pace of the meal. Fried dishes oily weren’t crispy, overcooked oily green beans, the tiny amount of meat did not come off that large bone. Finally the classic “Peking duck” is just simple roasted duck, fat unrendered, skin not crisp, meat soggy not firm and flagrant, shoddy knife work carving the bird. Does not deserve the price they are charging.

The vibes here are amazing. The restaurant felt relaxing and comfortable, and I really enjoyed my meal. My server, Nicole, was such a sweetheart, very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious! I had the five-spice duck spring rolls and the pork fried rice, both seasoned to perfection. Oscar, the GM, was also very kind. I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely come again and recommend it to others.

I had such a wonderful experience here! The food was amazing but what really made it special was our server Nicole, shes got such a warm smile and positive energy that makes you feel welcome plus she genuinely cared that we had a great time. Easily one of the best dinning experiences I’ve ever had In a long time!

Excellent food, especially the savory dishes. Each of the five flavor soup dumplings had a unique and intense flavor, and they were quite plump. The passion fruit prawns were perfectly cooked and delicious. The veggies in curry all kept their intense flavor, the curry was addictive, and the scallion pancake was crispy and very enjoyable. The cheesecake for dessert was good, but unremarkable, in fact the sauce was a bit too sweet and took away from the cheese. The staff was very attentive, and the decoration is simple but very pleasant.

I had such a magical experience celebrating my birthday at Tang. Everything exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere, the scenery, and even the menus were thoughtfully curated. I especially loved the presentation of the lychee shrimp appetizer.
What truly made this a 10/10 experience was Oscar, the host! He was personable, attentive, and always willing to hear feedback to make the experience even more enjoyable.
I can honestly say I actually had fun! I don’t think I’ve ever described dining out as “fun” before. I truly wasn’t ready to leave! I can’t wait to go back.

Really pretty restaurant and venue.
Menus were dirty, the fresh food was not great and the rest was definitely frozen pre-prepared.
The duck was not good. This is the first time I’ve gotten mapo tofu that came out light brown and not spicy. I think the creamy peanut sauce that came on chicken and prawn satay was legit peanut hollandaise.
Just needs some care and authenticity. Wouldn’t recommend until then.

The elevated cuisine and presentation make Tang by Mr. Sun one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. Their happy hour menu (3 generous courses for $30 plus tax) is no ordinary lunch special. The Tang salad had a lip-puckering brightness. The rock shrimp tempura and the crispy hot and sour beef were both scrumptious. The duck spring rolls are a must-try. The only blemish on this rating is the inadequate air conditioning in an otherwise sophisticated space.

The drinks are amazing – beautiful presentation and tasted delicious!
The presentation of the lychee shrimp balls is so fun! The lobster shumai was also a yummy appetizer.
Really enjoyed the medallions and broccoli and the fried rice!
Topped it off with the chocolate lava cake! The service is very attentive and kind. Highly recommend trying it!
