Let me start of by saying that we are big foodies, and business owners ourselves.
This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The food is exceptional. From our appetizer of hot Brie and honey, alongside the house bread with roasted garlic, to our entrees.. the seafood ravioli was decadent, every bite better than the last. Best pasta dish I have ever had. The ribeye was also easily one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, mashed potatoes were delicious as well. For dessert we each tried the blueberry pie and gingerbread bread pudding. WOW. Every single thing that we ate was flavorful, well presented, and with good portions.
Our server Evan was wonderful as well, friendly, and prompt.
Thank you for caring, thank you for knowing how to execute a fine dining experience.
Many establishments on the coast ride on the skirt tails of the ocean view. Many lack care when it comes to delicious food and ambiance. We can tell that you running this business genuinely care about the experience you are offering to people here.
The details matter. Good food matters. It matters that you care. We appreciate you, from the ones in charge, to the chefs , to the friendly and prompt servers and other staff. Thanks so much for making this an incredible anniversary weekend for my partner and I. It’s tradition to stay here at the Inn and dine with you, and we already look forward to next year!

Always a great experience here. Today we stopped for lunch and had a pizza with gluten free crust and a haddock sandwich. Both were fantastic. The lobster chowder is also very good and it too is gluten free.

We stayed here recently and it happened to be our anniversary….had dinner in cozy bar area in a fabulous little spot under the stairs. I had the scallops and my husband wanted the pizza…( I thought he should have something more special but he loves pizza!). He hasn’t stopped talking about the pizza since we got home. It was thin and crispy with the perfect amount of toppings. Scallops were wonderful as well! We are making plans to come back, everyone was so nice.

The pub downstairs has an old nautical feel with a very friendly staff. The trout dip appetizer was very good. The 1636 restaurant is upstairs and is very classy and comfortable. The chicken breast, stuffed with lobster and glazed with hollandaise sauce over mashed potatoes was outstanding, and again the waiter was friendly and helpful. An altogether wonderful experience.

Moseyed down for an off-season Happy Hour in the Cellar Pub. Gorgeous space. Wood walls, porthole windows, the interior ship feel is wonderful. My rum swizzle is excellent. I especially appreciate the paper straw. Will definitely be back to sample the food.

A lovely experience. Highly recommended.
Great service: our waitress realized we wished to enjoy our cocktails, first, and did not rush us to order. Phenomenal cuisine: the mussels app were likely the best mussels we’ve ever had – sweet, perfectly cooked, delicious broth and bread: we couldn’t get enough. The scallops entree and the seafood ravioli entree were great – bountiful seafood, expertly prepared.
Beautiful, comfortable decor.
Live music on the weekends. Unheard of these days, it seems.
Highly recommended.

We went to dinner with my husband’s family last week, and our experience was awful. I have some dietary restrictions and don’t eat dairy due to severe intolerance or mild allergy (I won’t go to the hospital, but I’ll get very sick/and my skin reacts). I mentioned this to the server, who seemed rather disinterested in helping us, when we ordered. While waiting for our meals, we order a side of bread, which was pretty average for an expensive place, but fine. However, when we got our meals, the sandwich I ordered came without any bread. When I asked about this, our server said it comes on brioche usually, so it was rung in without bread. The server never said anything when we ordered earlier, so I assumed it was going to come on some sort of nondairy bread or roll (I can eat almost all bread no problem, brioche just happens to be one of the types with a lot of butter in it). When I said this and asked for nondairy bread, the server said “Doesn’t all bread have dairy in it?” and when we asked if we could just get more of the table bread said “Sure, but I can’t guarantee it’s nondairy.” Good news is if there was any dairy in the table bread at all, it was a very trace amount, but we were flabbergasted, especially since I said I don’t eat it and the server never said there might be any in the table bread when it was brought over. I’m lucky to be okay if I accidentally have trace dairy, but what if I were someone with a serious enough allergy to end up in the ER? That could have been a real problem. On top of this, they forgot some of our sauces and the lobster did not taste fresh at all. Overall, a very disappointing experience especially for a place which is supposedly fine dining. Not worth the cost of the meals.

The entrance was a little confusing if you are an outside guest not staying at the Inn. The hostess was very nice and accommodating. The server was also nice. The kids shells and cheese was made with more of a parmesan vibe rather than true shells and cheese so there was some disappointment there. The kids pizza flatbread was great. Seafood ravioli was wonderful. Broiled haddock and sides left much to be desired. Haddock was perfectly cooked and piping hot, but it was described as served “with lemon and wine topped with buttered crumbs” however all that could be tasted was butter which was overwhelmingly sweet. The sides we chose were white rice and green beans which both lacked any seasoning. We also ordered two cocktails- the rum swizzle and harbor beach lemonade both of which were delicious! Overall for a family it was fine but not our favorite. Would still recommend if you want somewhere close to the Inns nearby.

First off, the food was in no way bad, it was just very average. This is very nitpicking only because this was supposed to be a fine dining experience. So a fair meal at fine dining prices.
Sides consisted of french fries, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, onion rings, asparagus, and green beans. Continental flair? I’m not sure about that. Again nothing was really bad, it just wasn’t really good. Not someplace I would recommend for a special dinner.
The food came out warm almost to the point of cool, that should have been our first clue. Food isn’t sent back because it is warm though, you can’t heat up scallops or salmon.
The scallops were so firm they felt overdone, but were still visibly medium. The taste was okay, but the texture was off. The orzo they were served on had a thin crust over the top so we think they sat for a little too long.
The salmon was cooked to the point another second would have been too long. It was tasty but a little too firm.
We told the server it was fine, we were eating our dinner, but the it had obviously sat too long.
This vibe was more of a seniors Sunday dinner right down to the early bird specials. This was not fine dining. The waitstaff carries drinks out holding the glass by the bowls, a martini sloshing over the rim onto the servers hands, the reception person wearing a long sleeve T-shirt, fancy sweatpants and sneakers.

The service was great and we would highly recommend the seafood ravioli and lobster mac and cheese. The price was really good for a high end reataurant as well.
