This restaurant is near a furniture outlet and looks suspicious but the ribs and chicken were phenomenal . The brisket was somewhat dry, and the beans and cornbread sides were good.

Went for RI food fights free burger month. The sliders were cooked well & flavorful. The chili was very good with a little bit of a kick. The bartender was super nice & helpful we enjoyed her company.

I went to Wes’s Sunday night for dinner and the ribs were delicious! I mean delicious! It was not at all like the chain restaurant ribs which always tastes dry and Wes’s ribs were cooked perfectly over fire. The waitress was very nice and pleasant.

The only complaint and disappointment I had was the waffle fries were taken off the menu and not served anymore which I think is a mistake because the curly fries were just okay. Their waffle fries when they had it recently is delicious and I love to soak them in the BBQ sauce which is phenomenal by the way. I do hope they bring back the waffle fries because it goes better with the ribs and it’s delicious. Maybe they should offer both the waffle fries and the curly fries but I personally would pick the waffle fries every time.

I loved the Chili! Would definitely come back here for that
I came because I saw my friend Liv post on Instagram about a new special and I had to come try it.
They had a comedy night happening upstairs which seemed cute and I saw they also host a trivia up there as well.
Arriving for the first time seemed difficult to find to me but Google Maps led us in fine. Plenty of parking here in a huge lot. Fun interesting pully system for the fans which I loved.
It does not seem to be accessible by wheelchair through the main entrance because there are stairs right at the door. Maybe there’s another entrance. I loved the Mac and cheese but did see someone complaining it lacks flavor and I think they probably want a sharper cheddar flavor to it but it’s otherwise really good.
My first time here and I can’t wait to come back 🙂

Stop number 4 on the @rifoodfights #lordofthewings challenge: @wesribhouse. I was very excited to try this as I skipped lunch so I could have room for their ribs. They have been in Prividence for 50+ years but they were not on my radar – which I am disappointed in myself, as I love BBQ. The bartender recommends the hot honey wing BUT I decide to go with the house BBQ sauce as I assume it is made in house. I was not disappointed. The sauce was not overpowering and complemented the smokey flavor of the wing. The wings were a little crispy. I would have preferred more “crisp” but I suspect that is the trade off for that smoked flavor. A lot of meat on the bone and little fat. Another solid entry! The ribs were very good. Pork ribs (not baby back, so big. I got a quarter rack and it was enough!). Great flavor. I added a bit of their hot bbq sauce and enjoyed the experience. I also had the collard greens, cole slaw, and corn bread. I was stuffed (and left a bit I couldn’t finish. Bonus: there was a flyer for @improvpig in the entrance!

Honestly, I’ve ordered from here only a few times since the start of 2025. As the year went on, the BBQ is pretty good, definitely not bad, but since I was new to the area and didn’t know any other barbecue spots, it’s just okay, nothing wrong with it. I just wish they had beef ribs because they only sell pork ribs. Still, I love the sweet plantains and collard greens that come with it. The only reason I give it a three is because I don’t eat pork like that, but I still ate it about five times, so it’s all right. it’s more like 3.5 not really three.

Slot has changed here .More modern restaurant atmosphere but miss the pit and watching the meats cook.
The selection options are smaller. The brisket was tender but unfortunately came to us cold. They however brought us some that was hot.The cornbread was as good as we remembered.
Expect a somewhat high price point
Service was ok though

Atmospheric BBQ house with a selection of beef pork and chicken, a few salads and a few very expensive desserts. Several large screen TVs for sports viewing. Pulled pork sandwich was large and very good. Maybe a little dry but there were several bottles of sauce on the table to spice things up. The BBQ beans were also good.

Sorry, add us to the list of people who won’t be returning. Brought my extended family – kids and grandchildren – after a Providence Bruins afternoon game. Besides our party of 8, there were exactly two other tables occupied. One couple already had their food and the second was a gentleman who walked in right behind us. We ordered drinks for kids and adult beverages. Waited approximately 1/2 hour. Drinks came out with food. While food WAS hot when we got it, it got pretty cold while we waited for TWO waitresses to realize we had no plates and no utensils. We had ordered the family meal but nothing came with utensils to serve the sides. Again, we waited for those to be brought to us. I hadn’t been to Wes’ in approximately 30 years and am guessing I won’t return again in the next 30 either. Our bill, with the 20% gratuity added by them and NOT advised ahead of time was $265. For 5 adults (1 Coke, 2 beers, 2 margaritas) and 3 kids (8, 10 and 12) each with a soda. The sides that came with the family meal were absolutely not 1 pint, so we ordered 4 more sides). Also had the appetizer platter and a separate order of plain chix wings. Yup, $265 and it was not only cold, but really – nothing to write home about either. Highly doubt Wes’ will see another 50 years
