We often travel MN to CO. Love driving through the interior of NE, & avoid semis on I-80. Burwell & Sandhills suites is a great stopover. We also love supporting small businesses. This renovated hotel is unique, CLEAN, quiet & very comfortable. It was a cold snowy night & warm in our room.
A few restaurants/ bars within walking distance too. Our favorite is the NORTHSIDE Bar with wall of historical rodeo photos. Wonderful, friendly staff, great burgers & bourbon. Always fun meeting some locals too.

Went in for a beer and a burger! Food was delicious! Nice hefty bacon cheeseburger. Prices were very fair! I didn’t really even get offered a menu or anything just told the lady what I wanted and she got it for me. Definitely would have appreciated to know pricing and stuff like that but luckily it was fair priced for a bar burger. Was very dead but it was 2 pm on a Wednesday so that’s what I had expected!

I ordered the Popper Burger (Jalapeño Popper) with sweet potato fries. The burger was one of the best ones I’ve had in awhile, the bun was perfect. Best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. The staff was nice and welcoming.

This is the place. We ate there three days during the past week. Their ribeye steak sandwich is DELICIOUS, and we loved the gizzards. The staff and locals were so friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere with televisions showing sports, rodeos, and horse sales. Well done, Northside!
