Visited Rangoli Indian Cuisine at their North Avenue location for dinner. The staff was very friendly and made the whole experience feel welcoming.
We ordered a variety of dishes, and a few things really stood out especially the Gobi Manchurian, tadka daal, and the desserts. The gulab jamun and mango kulfi were both a great way to end the meal.
They offer a nice range of vegetarian options, and with two locations in Chicago, it’s a convenient spot to check out if you’re into Indian cuisine.

Tired this place on a Friday night. We started off with Gobi Manchurian which was delicious. For main course we then had Kofta Makhani and Lamb Curry with tandoori roti and Naan. The food was tasty and was served hot.
The service was great and the Indian server was very warm. The ambiance is just ok. I would say this place was a pleasant surprise with Indian flavours.
I would recommend to try it!

Ordered for take out sunday and actually had one of the worst meals of my life. We ended up having to throw away at least half of what we ordered, and barely choked down the rest.
The chicken 65 and gobi manchurian were almost entirely tiny, overcooked pieces of fried dough, with almost no recognizable chicken/cauliflower chunks. all three curries we got were incredibly watery. The lamb in the korma was incredibly tough, dry, and overcooked (almost certainly just kept from the previous night, since we ordered right as they opened). The chicken in the tikka masala was OK, but also overcooked and there was hardly any chicken in the container. The bagara baingan was horrifying, with a centimeter of oil coalesced at the top and an actually rank flavor. After one bite we had to toss the whole thing.
The only good thing was the naan, but for a $5 order they literally only gave us a single half-piece (just a semi-circle, not even a whole circle). Absolutely laughable.

Food was absolutely delicious! Really enjoyed the lamb tikka masala, the meat was so tender and moist. Friendly staff and quiet setting. Great to pop in for a comforting meal.

The place has a good ambience and the service was quick, efficient and friendly. The food itself was very tasty – well-prepared, correct combination of tastes and spiciness, etc. The Gobi Manchurian appetizer was mouthwatering in taste, crispiness etc. The quantities were a little too less, but nothing else to complain about as far as the food was concerned. Parking on the street was free and plentiful, one more advantage over the complete chaos of Devon street.

The amount of food was way too small for their prices. The Gobi Manchurian was $13 and they served their dish in a very tiny delivery container. The chicken tikka masala had 6 pieces of chicken and they charged $17.50 for it. It was also very heavy on the tomato flavor and not of the all spices that makes this dish delicious. Very disappointing. I will never order again.

The service was nice, but I’m sorry, this is a really bad choice for Indian food. We ordered gobi Manchurian, palak paneer, chicken tikka, garlic naan, onion kulcha, and basmati rice. First, neither rice or naan come with the curry, so you have to buy it all separately which adds another 10+ $ to the meal and is far more expensive than any Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to, and I’m Indian, so I’ve been to countless. Next, the portions are way too small considering the $18 curries. Maybe it’s an illusion because of the size of the bowl, but I was regretting coming here as soon as I saw the food come out. The gobi Manchurian was ok, but the curries were the worst I’ve ever had. I’m really sorry to be this blunt but it’s not fair to charge a premium and give horrible quality. They tasted like nothing. There was no flavor. I hope this restaurant can make some serious revisions to their recipes. The onion kulcha was not good and naan didn’t seem fresh. We did not even take leftovers and I hate to waste food.

I ordered the lamb vindaloo….which was maybe my error. I’ve never seen a vindaloo dish with so much oil (or ghee). This made the sauce more like a soup. Taste wise it was okay. Definitely an Americanized vindaloo as it wasn’t very hot. The lentils were good as was the naan bread. The lamb in the lamb samosas was rather dry and crumbly. The flavour was okay. Overall a bit of a meh experience…..especially for the price.

Sent us a wrong order on a sunday lunch. What more do you want to ruin a nice sunday. Finally the order arrived after 2:30hrs with not so great tasting food. Oily samosa, very garlicky nan, tangy channa masala.
