Authentic Mexican place. Quite similar to others in the region. Home made salsa along with chips to start you off while looking through the menu. Friendly place, and staff stayed on top of what was going on. Menu has plenty of options, and you can get a combination meal, or order individual items, some with beans and rice, and others not. You’re sure to find something that will interest you in trying. Place is fairly decent sized, and felt clean. I don’t believe there are any other Mexican restaurants in Rock Rapids to compete with, but this place still does a great job at trying to maintain a 1st place experience, even though there isn’t really any competition. Give it a try!

I dont know where people are getting authentic from in the reviews.. I think the lack of options in the area is clouding people’s minds a bit. Nothing authentic about Sysco foods frozen meat slices, canned refried beans, and add water and msg rice… not to mention half the staff looks angry and dont talk back to you and just ignore you, but the worst part is the dirty ceiling tiles, wall trim with grease prints, and light fixtures with only half the lights not burnt out.. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.. I tried 3 times to give then an honest review and this last time all I ordered was a fried ice cream and that tasted so old and stale I couldn’t choke it down… as a Latino myself id say a Canadian could cook Mexican food better than this place, NOT RECOMMENDED

The food used to be better. I can do a much better job then what we ate there. The taste, appearance and texture was cafeteria or less. The chips and salsa were great. The sip of bottled Coke I drank from my wife’s bottle was good and my beer was good. The rest was disappointing.
The people are polite and friendly. Not all employees are fluent in English and others do not understand all vocabulary – I got a few blank stares and realize I needed to rephrase. This is the curse of my higher education. My own family ftequently ask me to explain what I said.
What I paid for what we got was not a good value. They used to do better job. Times are tough for almost everyone.

Food is mediocre on a good day. Service is just awful… few of the staff speak English and you have to walk your check up to the counter and wait forever for some to come cash you out. The place is run-down and worn out. Just got a sick stomach from the food there for the last time. Really wish it were good but it just isn’t. Seems like it was a lot better when it first opened and has gone steadily down hill since then.

My girl and I went out here on a date and the food was actually very good. We were seated right away as they weren’t too busy. The menu was quite broad and gave options for anyone. The food came out hot and fresh and we very much enjoyed our meal. As the restaurant got busier however we seemed to be forgotten and waited a very long while for our check. Ended up having to go to the front desk and wait for a while.
