Amazing staff! Delicious food with finest ingredients! A hidden gem in middlesex county! Great place for dinner and now they are serving brunch! We had our team celebration there and everyone was in awe! Great job team Azucar’s!

I really want to like this place because it’s such a unique spot and a great addition to downtown Maynard. We’ve been here a handful of times over the years. Different days. Different staff. Busy. Not busy. Service has been consistently and unacceptably slow at every visit.
Last night we came in just for drinks at the bar, shortly before the dinner rush started to clear out. We were only able to order a single drink each in 90 minutes.
We observed a single bartender with no barback supporting the entire restaurant and possibly waiting on the front lounge area. On several occasions, the lone bartender left the bar area for extended periods, particularly for espresso shots to make coffee-based drinks on the menu, or to restock bottles. These additional out-of-room tasks distract staff and ultimately delay service.
We did not order food, but others that did seemed to receive it quickly, so I think the problem is primarily the bar service. Management either needs to hire additional staff or talk to their current employees about what slows them down.

Great place for fun dining. If you have a group of 10 or under, ask about the back room for ultra casual dining away from the crowd. We squeezed 11 in the back room and still had fun. Everything was delicious. The drinks and mock tails were great. Matt was a good host. Many of the locals in our group said they would be coming back.

My husband and I moved to Maynard in 2023. We were looking for a cute place in town to get a cocktail and came across Azucar and we have been repeat customers ever since. One of the reasons for that is Rico. Rico jokes that he “loves love,” but he truly makes every drink, attends to each table, hosts, even cooks, with so much love, care, and compassion. He has also become an incredible friend, and while we are sad he’s no longer here (he’s not dead, he went home to Mexico), he will always hold a special place in our hearts. We also know that we will remain in good hands as all the staff (little shoutout to Esteban, Matthew, and everyone else), who are amazing and treat you like you are family. If you are looking for a warm and welcoming place to go with a great vibe, go to Azucar.

Great place with very good tapas. We sat at the large bar for dinner. Taylor our bartender & server was awesome. She went above and beyond to insure our drinks and tapas were to our liking. We started with the Spanish meats & cheese plate with a plate of a tasty beet salad. Drinks were a Negroni and a spicy mango margarita. Next was chorizo and onions and the octopus. Both were tasty but think they were a little too well done to our liking. Sent the first octopus back and the second was better but still tough in a few pieces. Had a great Spanish wine with the dishes. Finished the night with a Spanish version of creme brûlée that was perfect.
We will be back to try others tapas and bring friends.

We came here on a Tuesday night, so it was very quiet and there was hardly anybody there, but the service was fast and friendly and the food and beverages were great. The only thing that we did not love was the chorizo dish, it was a bit dry. Otherwise, a great evening for a date night, cannot comment on the flamenco because it was not happening.

Sadly we had to quit our favorite local place. Review changed from 5 to 1 star. The last 3 times we came we waited and unreasonably long time and were not served aftee being seated, despite having a reservation. Twice on a weekend and once on a weekday. Last time we sat 40 minutes no food no drinks. Shame. We will miss you Azucar.

Really wanted this to be better. The food was pretty bland, though the options on the menu were appealing. The service was excellent. Has outdoor street-side seating in downtown Maynard. The entrance was a bit in need of repair, but the bar looked well-stocked inside.
