Founded in 2012, The Imperial (Life) began as an auxiliary craft cocktail & charcuterie bar to the restaurant Table. In 2020, when Table relocated, we focused our energy into mezcal, music, & agave focused cocktails. It’s a fun, intimate & lively space, with DJ’s playing late night. Come have a drink with us. Highly Recommend Imperial! Imperial is a fantastic spot, especially for a chill night out like a Tuesday when many Asheville bars are closed. The two-story setup has a full bar on each floor, and the bartenders on both levels were excellent. They have a fun seasonal cocktail list and a unique food menu—we didn’t eat, but would have ate everything on the menu. Our cocktails were all made perfectly.
A special shout-out to Adam, the downstairs bartender! He was super fun, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the local area, giving us some great recommendations.

absolutely stellar cocktails and awesome vibe. so happy to stumble on this place and would definitely come back. you can tell the bartenders know what they’re doing. the spitting devil was 10/10 and the perfect daiquiri is accurately named.

Had been walking around Asheville for about an hour in 35 degree weather. Came in and sat down. Had some water. Bar tender wouldn’t serve me because “your face is a little red”, had not had one drink, so I just left. Won’t be back. Also, there are many things that can cause a red face. Perhaps I have a medical condition? Or maybe I’d been walking around outside in the cold for an extended period of time and my cheeks were a little chapped? Perhaps both? Anyway, his face will be red after reading this.

We had the best experience here. Immediately, it was like tell me what you like and I will create it. We showed a drink recipe that we had liked and both bartenders were so excited to make the drink with their own flare. It turned into a competition. Best experience ever! Don’t miss this place! Have not tried their food yet. Have been there after hours to the bar. Small place with limited capacity but amazing drinks. Have a good mezcal and tequila bar. Have Paloma’s on draft . The music is good and it’s vibing after 10pm. Must check it out. Good cocktails as well.

Awesome place to grab an amazing craft cocktail. Their selection of Mezcals is spectacular, almost every varietal of Agave represented. Thimble is an artisan and knowledgeable mixologist. We felt very welcomed by the whole staff. Recommend the Spitting Devil & Two Shakes of a Lambs tail! We will be back!
